It's in the "Hits" music book. Here are the chords as I remember them. FOr the bass tab, I think the notes are pretty much the root note of the appropriate chord, although in the verses I think an E-Gb-Ab progression is used to get from Gb back to Ab.

VERSE
There's some talk going round town
Ab

That you really don't give a damn
Gb

Etc.

CHORUS
I played the fool while we're together
Ab

B - Bb

But I cried while we're apart
Ab

B - Bb

I could do you no better
Ab

B - Bb

Don't break what's left of a
Ab

Broken heart baby
A

Why you wanna treat me so bad when you know I
Ab

Love you?
Gb - Db (the Db is played then slide it down the neck to create that "falling" sound)

That's it, I believe. Hope that helps, or is at least understandable!

Thanks so much. I'll let you know how I do with it.

I'd suggest a few changes - for that slide after "U know I love U", I'd suggest doing a Gb on the second fret 244322, and then suddenly doing a 9th fret Gb X 9 11 11 11 9. Also, that A on "of a broken heart" don't sound right.

I'll check the music book at home during lunch. I got the A chord when I figured it out by ear, so I could certainly be wrong. It's probably something a little funkier than that.

The book says that chord (the "A" I listed) is actually a Cminor. I played that on my acoustic and it didn't sound as good or right to me as the A does, but I guess you've got a couple choices.

Thanks you guys. With the exception of the A vs Cm I have played along with the live footage from 1981 and the Chords work. tomorrow I'm going to pay attention to the A vs Cm

Thanks again
