The Clip is great! (what do u think...) Just viewed the Question of U/The One/Fallin'-clip. In my opnion it's great. It's shot (filmed) very good (especially compared to the alladin dvd). The sound is magnificent. It does beat all the booties so far (audio and video).
The man is in great shape. In musical intensity it does not beat the Celebration version of this 'trilogy'-song', but it comes near and it's a delight to have such nice images coming along with it. It makes me long for more. And although this will be released maybe as a complete dvd, and thus this is a kind of preview, it's a pleasure to see it now. When you have no chance to see the actual tour- because you're european for example, it's nice to have a look at it. @rt, Amsterdam, Holland P.S. And don't leave it there for those few damn euro's or dollars. It's worth it. Pay for a privilege, now and then. I'm a Rainbow Children, Xpectation, News and Musicology lover and I'm startin'to be a 3121 lover.

Candy vocals are ok. Surprisingly well for her status. She has soul!
The first time they come in, the timing is a bit strange. But as a dutch person, I'm proud about Candy... @rt. I'm a Rainbow Children, Xpectation, News and Musicology lover and I'm startin'to be a 3121 lover.

I like it better when P sings it himself. Candy is ahhhight but I found her contribution disruptive

I know some of us moaned about this on the ONA-Live CD but I still wish there was more atmosphere on the recordings, it sounds like he is singing to an empty arena.
I enjoy some boots more because of their ability to capture the excitement of being at a Prince concert.

It's a Windows Media Video file in 1002-bit (according to my computer). The audio file is 256-bit, this is based on downloading the large files. I guess you can burn it to a DVD but I'm not sure....might be some licencing issues. [This message was edited Wed May 26 6:18:59 2004 by g3ajg]

Haven't tried to burn it yet. Dunno how it works burning images to dvd.
As always there will be a way, just the same as with the DRM audio files. @rt. I'm a Rainbow Children, Xpectation, News and Musicology lover and I'm startin'to be a 3121 lover.

Okay- so the NPGMC version is better sound and video quality wise, but some long shots of the stage and some audience shots would have been nice. Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

why do some of you people wanna see and hear the audience so much? which way do you all face when you go to a concert? it's better when ya face the stage, you know.

Sorry- the clip from NPGMC isn't as exciting as my boot video. And it's a live video, we should see the audience some. The video perspective of John makes me feel like I'm going to fall into the drums- I thought I saw 4 cameras around the primiter of the arena (in Atlanta). You know- whatever, I still like it! I just would have edited it a little differently Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

i'll agree that there's something just a leeeettle bit sterile about the clip, but ya know what? it beats the crap he's pushed on us in the past. it's far more professional looking than the aladdin DVD, and it has far less dumbass special effects and weird slo-mo shots than the RAVE DVD. i like that it was "just the facts, ma'am" and that it was shot clearly and professionally. i WILL say this - as much as i really like concert noise to be limited to an abbreviated roar between songs on live albums, it did kinda seem like prince is playing in a void on this clip.
but...i think i kinda LIKE that. it reminded me a lot of the quality of shots displayed on the video screens in concerts, which i guess is only fitting. those folks are doing a great job giving the audience the best views in the house.

The quality is much improved over what we have got before. I think he has finally got some people who know what they are doing and or is spending the money required to get some decent results.
I am pleased that we have access to this stuff and hope we can get more, I just would love a bit more atmosphere ala Lovesexy live, but as with everying in life it comes down to personal perference. Adam.

Adam. amen to all that, especially that last part. though i'm coming around to your point of view about seeing a bit more atmosphere. i think the audience views were a little cheesy in the aladdin DVD...it was like, "look! prince has fans! look at all those happy, happy fans! and by the way, did you see all those happy fans at this concert?" but the livesexy video was just right. we got the energy without it having to be pointed out to us. it was cool.

Nice way of saying things, Anxiety. It adds up to my first impression. I agree with you on the 'void'-thing: i'm kinda liking it too. And then the split second when the flashlight comes on the drumbeat: suddenly you see the audience and that's great.
