VS ROOM PURPLE STAIR CASE

You know that crappy VIP Glam Slam 'Party' of old club tracks availablr in the VS Rooms bt going up the purple stairs and putting in a 'guest id' and password?

Anyone been in there lately? There used to be a few words saying that the 'party' had ended for the time being but its now asking for the guest id and password- so anyone been there recently? Any goodies Prince is only giving to some memebers and not others. Doubt it but thought I'd ask.

And how come no one with these £1000 dollar ticktes is posting about their experience? Prince taking tips from the Taliban again- you will think this, censorship etc...??

They didn't exactly sell many of those tickets, not everybody visits prince.org and, even then, it's entirely up to an individual if they want to share something or not.

This is to be found in the NPGMC's Concert forum for Oct21... didn't find more detailed reports (hope they don't mind I put it over here) evillol :

Post 1:

ONSTAGE XPERIENCE -

Arrived at 3.15 to collect VIP passes and despite the looong que and the torrential rain porining down all the NPGMC memebers in the line it was suprisingly easy to get the passes organised. This was followed by an even longer que inside the stadium to get into the soundcheck...

We all could hear stuff going on inside but weren't allowed in for another hour at least. Once inside we saw Prince jammin very casually, he also joked around a bit on stage...he also played I think - correct me here guys - Bambi during the soundcheck...a very rocked up version of it to say the least.

Afterwards we the onstage vip's were escorted through the maze of tunnels under the stadium, given some refreshments and were taken in to meet Prince (!!!).

He was very warm and gracious and very funny and down to earth. We all chatted for just under an hour about various topics (which will remain btwn him and us). There were no security guards present just P and us fams sitting around his dressing room having a chat. This was just the most awesome thing EVER!!

We then went in2 the stadium again only to suffer the horrendus DJing from Groove Terminator. It was really, really terrible. I was very suprised at the performance as he is a reasonably big DJ here in OZ.

After that pain we took our seats on the stage for the main event. The seating was arranged as mentioned, 10 on the left side of the stage, 4 in the centre and 6 on the other side of the stage. (we had cocktail tables which we promptly removed for dancin space!!).

Prince opened wif LGC followed by a medly of classics which sent the crowd bizerk! He also motioned for us to leav our "area" and come dance with him on the centre of the stage!!! This was FANTASTIC!! I was not expecting that! We spent at least 50% of the show dancin around and behind Prince and the NPG!! He got us really involved with the show, it was sensational.

The show abruptly finishd with PR (we saw the setlist in his dressing room pre-show and 3 of the last songs before PR were cut!!!), hands waving, candles lit etc. He joked around with the audience a bit during the show and tried sevral variations on the pronnunciation of "Melbourne", very funny!

At the conclusion of the show we were given the boxsets and some wrist bands so we could head off to the after party at the Prince Of Wales. We went down only to find - Groove Terminator - playing EXACTLY the same tracks in EXACTLY the same order as he did pre show!!! After two hours of some of the WORST DJing i've ever come across we had to leave...so waiting for tomorrow night and the reviews from the after party now!! All in all, a fantastic show, Prince is one of the most amazing performers and human beings. A big THUMBS UP for the show!!! Now bring on number two!!

PEACE!

PS: Ohhh and he played Shhh from the GoldX!!! I love that!!! WooHoo!!!

Post 2:

Hey y'all,

Its now 10:46am, Tuedsay October 22nd. My mind still hasn't fully comprehended the fact that last nite I was ONSTAGE while Prince and the NPG were turning out those fonky tunes all nite long. And I am now just fully realising that last nite was the first (and possilbly only) time that I was dancing ONSTAGE infront of 12-15 thousand Prince fans!!!

Never in my wildest dreams would have I thought that one day I would not only b onstage for an entire Prince concert, but that I would also b dancing with all the other fams, with Prince right infront of us, infront of so many people. If u told me that 2 years ago...actually, 2 weeks ago!...I would have kicked yo b-hind from here (Mel-boing!) to Paisley Park. I would have said, "girrrlll...u crazy!"

Anyway, meeting Prince after the soundcheck was an absolute treat/delight/honour/xperience. Surprisingly I was not really that nervous at all. I found out that "yeah, Prince is just a person like us." And I also learnt the reason why he doesn't like to sign autographs or have his photo taken with u - he doesn't like idolatry. Im sure u'd know that from the Knowledge room. Oh, and I thought he'd b shorter than he was, but he wasn't THAT short. I guess it was just my xpectation that he would have been much shorter than me seeing Im around 6'4"

It felt so bizarre being in a room with Prince 4 under an hour just talking about stuff. 2 b completely honest I can't remember most of what we spoke about which is really annoying for me because it was such a special xperience. All I know is it felt like a "normal" conversation u'd have with anyone, just that it happened to b with Prince.

Oh, word of warning 2 anyone who goes onstage, xpect everyone to b coming up 2 u afterwards asking u heaps of ? But that's understandable - I would have 2. I had some people come up to me after the concert touching my hand (the one I shook Prince's hand with) just to "absorb" some of "the vibe" Prince imprinted on me. LOL. How so very weird. It was my own little xperience of Idolatry. And I can c why Prince, after so many years of being famous, is not a big fan of it.

Like the other fams have written, the set list was the same as HK. But I didn't care. Just the sound check (about an hour long) felt worth the money I paid for the onstage ticket. Oh, and by the way, one thing Prince mentioned to us (Im sure he won't mind us telling everyone this) is that all the money that the fams paid for the onstage tickets was going to go to charity! And not only that, but he was going to double the amount that we gave! Strangely enough, it all seems to have been inspired by that days Oprah show. LOL.

Anyway, my head is still buzzing over last nite's xperience. I have no idea if anything I just wrote makes any sense but if y'all have any ? just ask. All I know is that there is a concert waiting for me 2nite so I gots to get ready!

"We gets up - everybody get down
Make a sound make a sound..."

So Melboing, we gonna tear it up again 2nite or what?!

sorry, but i take it as a load of crap that prince is not into idolatry. i love the man's work, so don't take it the wrong way. it just must be said that anyone who charges 1000 bucks to meet him must have a bit if an idol complex.

Hope you didn't take the reports as my words... I'm just thinking the same way you do. Just copy & pasted the reports from the concert forum. Hell, I'm in Germany, not Australia! lol

Yeah, but the onstage $1,000 tickets are going to charity. And you know what, after seeing and hearing some cool stuff that happened with the meet and greet, I would do anything to turn back time and pay the $1,000!! I hope that if he tours the states that I would get another opportunity.. I'm saving my money now and that is to travel from Australia!

whofarted they found out that he's a person? somethin about that don't sound right to me...it's downright creepie. you'd think that everybody would know that p is human, first and foremost, instead of just some...musical god/saviour of some sort.

And I also learnt the reason why he doesn't like to sign autographs or have his photo taken with u - he doesn't like idolatry. Im sure u'd know that from the Knowledge room.

Shortly after the Club launched, the room was 'opened' for one night. Members were emailed the password for the evening, and this was changed when the evening ended.

The music played in there was the Glam Slam Club remix which is reported as a likely candidate for inclusion on The Chocolate Invasion.

But the remix is nothing new - just a remix of several tracks previously made available for download on what I think was the penultimate Ahdio show from the first year's membership. Remix tracks included 'The Human Body' and 'Hot Wit U' - which incorporated different rapped lyrics.
