how ironic! the original song, white mansion, to me sounded like prince being self mocking. the mansion is a symbol of the 'hollywood dream' and he says he knows he'll be happy once he attains it. . yet he sounds so sad i always thought he was making fun of all who think attaining an empty dream like that is meaningful | |

i think you read that song correctly...the thing is, there, he talks about retreating to minneapolis..the real irony is the fact that he seems to be cutting his ties to minneapolis (or at the least seriously considering it).
