My Downloads Expired and I don't give a shit (ok I do)

All is right in my purple world again. I am a bit of a control freak so I can act out at times when things don't go my way. A simple email has cleared this up (Thank you for working with me 3rd Eye Girl!), and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the new music. Can't wait to hear it live in Anaheim!!!

Spanky, out.

waah.. it's YOUR fault you didn't download your files in time.

they left your order up for 2 weeks.. MORE than enough time for you to grab them.

your 3 year-old will always be there. the MP3's won't...

I do agree that iTunes is a far safer place for Prince's music (from a fan perspective), but obviously it doesn't have the same feeling from Prince, who prefers these shortlived websites that pop up for a year than fade away. His music legacy is at risk from this business plan.

PS sorry you lost the songs, but 2 weeks is a long time!

I'm not advocating illegal sharing, but as you did pay for them surely there is a way for you to get hold of the songs from another source?

Shoot them an email?

Also - does this mean, no one can re-download their purchases after such a tiny timeframe? That would be like closing the marketstall shutters and doing a runner with the petty cash.

You'd never win a lawsuit like this because the site tells you when you order, you only have 14 days. I'm not sure what took PayPal so long to clear for you, mine were cleared and downloadable within minutes of ordering. Of course, I only ordered the mp3's and not the videos, I don't know if there's a difference with that. I'm sorry you lost your downloads. I have a 3 year old too, aren't they the best?!

Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

So here I sit in my lonely room

Lookin' for my sunshine

But all I've got is two cigarettes

And this broken heart of mine

So let the rain come down

The rain come down

Let the rain come down, down

Let the rain come down

The rain come down

Let the rain come down, down

You've been gone 14 days

14 long nights

The main drag is knowing that...

I see. It's still a bit daft that they expire in 2 weeks, but why buy them and not download them for a fortnight?

An email will surely sort it out.

i am really enjoying the fact that the internet allows fans to hear the songs first and not support prince in these projects .. now that i stopped spending money on prince i am much happier and less disappointed in his output and actions .. and reading these stories only reinforces my good decisions not to bother .. the 2 week expiration is completely unneccesary .. unless prince did not think his website would last that long .... hmmmmmmm ... prince clearly thinks his fans are stupid .. he can't sell anything to the public so he conjures up new ways to rip off his loyal hardcore fans that buy everything, by making them pay numerous times .. enjoy!

I think this statement is backwards.

Why is there a two week limit?

confused

I downloaded the files within minutes of paying for them. Paypal took a couple days to clear? Why?!?

Here's how I see it: You spent $5 and either didn't read the details or forgot about it. You can try emailing them, but, if it doesn't work, you're only out $5 for frakking up and forgetting about it. Lesson learned. This isn't on Prince or 3rdeyegirl.com, it's on you.

Being able to download each track 3 times within 2 weeks is plenty opportunity to get what you paid for.

In my not-so-humble opinion....

Stop being apologists.

This is not being an apologist. This is simple:

The terms of the purchase are 3 downloads within 2 weeks. That's pretty clear.

Why be an apologist for someone who ignores or forgets the terms and then shows his ass by complaining when the result is that he didn't get what he paid for?

This is like someone who goes into a store, pays for something, but walks out, leaving it on the counter, and comes back weeks later to complain that he didn't get what he paid for. Is it the stores responsibility that he walked away without picking up what he just paid for?

There may be things about Prince's online retail venture that are worth complaining about. This is not one of them. This is somebody who messed up but blames someone else for his mistake.

No it isnt like that.

What if you purchase and then have issues with dl?

then you leave for a spell and such

or maybe sometging tragic happens..or life

maybe you have a slow comp and decide to dl later..and forget or whatever

It isnt like buyig a pint and leaving and coming back to drink it and its gone two weeks later

mybe Santiago was an early riser

either way its odd to have a time limit

maybe it has something to do with exclusivity?

The OP mentioned no issues with the DL, so this is irrelevant, but, in such a case, contact the site and get it resolved.

or maybe sometging tragic happens..or life

This would not be the fault of Prince or the site. Also, irrelevant, the OP mentions no tragedy.

maybe you have a slow comp and decide to dl later..and forget or whatever

Again, not the fault of the site. The OP does mention forgetting (his fault) but does not mention anything about a slow computer, not that it would be relevant anyway.

It isnt like buyig a pint and leaving and coming back to drink it and its gone two weeks later

Yes. It is. It is exactly like that.

either way its odd to have a time limit

It's not odd. It's common. In fact, it's fairly standard. 3rdeyegirl.com isn't iTunes or a Cloud Service. You pay, you download, you're done. What is so hard about that? If it's not acceptable, why agree to it and complain after the fact?

I'll back up someone who pays but then the download doesn't work or the file is corrupted, I won't back up those that simply forget to download for two whole weeks and then bitch about it and blame Prince. That's just ridiculous.

I don't see why there's a 2 week limit but I'd have thought it long enough to get your downloads, even with puter problems?

It's like going to a chocolatier and asking if they'll make you a chocolate castle with penis shaped turrets. You agree on a price, pay for the goods and await your chocolate castle. Ten minutes waiting in the shop and a rabid bear wearing chaps crashes through the door, does a forward roll in front of you and drops a wet fart. You lock eyes, fall in love and skip out of the shop hand in hand.

Two weeks diet of sex, toothpaste, more sex and chafing then suddenly you remember your chocolate castle. You run back to the shop to pick it up but the chocolatier is gone. You bang on the door. No answer. You bang again and start peering in the windows. There's your chocolate castle, sitting on a display plate looking gorgeous with your name on it. Now what? ... It's simple, you go online, they'll know what to do.

maybe the op wanted to buy the tunes before they disappear into oblivion like all other prince online projects .. maybe the op is busy .. is it really the op's fault just because the op is busy and lacking access to computer time .. we are not all glued to our internet all the time .. is this really any more rediculous than paying for crystal ball and then waiting a year to recieve it .. are we only supposed to wait if prince says so but not if we have our own lives .. is it safe to blame prince instead of his fans for a change .. jeesh

boxed while I don't believe in illegal downloading for most artist Prince has almost made it where you feel he owes you something. Trent Reznor does downloads you never hear this kinda madness.

I would not recommended google though:innocent:

If they drop the time limit on the download everyone's happy. Simples. They should give us previews too while they're at it.

That pretty much sums it up. The reason I didn't download "within minutes" of my purchase is because if you have a zero balance in Paypal, but you have it linked to a bank account, Paypal makes you wait 2-3 business days before they release your money to whoever you are sending it to. So when I purchased I was sitting at my computer with free time, but had to wait a few days to recieve an email stating that "3Rd Eye Girl" was paid their money and I can now download my tracks. Well I received this at work so I couldn't download to my work computer. When I get home I am at the mercy of my wife and child (we have another on the way) so after bath, dinner, bills, our fucking beagle, daddy is tired. On rare days the boy goes to sleep without a fight, dinner is take out, the beagle doesn't shit on the floor, and mommy doesn't want daddy to watch Housewives or American Idol or whatever crap show is on (and if I am not right next to her on the couch to watch said shows, I get a pouty wife for a good day day and a half). On these days when all things fall into place I can go back online and have a ball. Such a night was last night (American Idol was on, but because the baby went to sleep early and it was only an hour, I had some energy to get my downloads before I hit the sack) and I didn't realize 17 days had passed since I asked paypal to pay 3rd eye girl which took another 3 days to process due to my zero balance. Make sense now?

Yes it is ultimately my fault for not downloading them in a timely manner (although I don't feel that I'm a dumbass contrary to what "errant" believes), but with the life I lead time as they say "flies". And as a result I have paid 5 dollars for absolutely nothing.

I wish u heaven
