Could it be that Prince lost interest in this site because...

...of all the negative feedback it got here on the 1st weeks?

I'm not saying we shouldn't have complained about the technical issues (i was the 1st to do so), but i'm really seriously wondering, would it have been different if we'd all praised this site?

Have we, basically, been PUNISHED?

Am I totally tripping or what?

if that's the case, it's beyond pathetic. besides, people would not
have been complaining all the time if they'd given us some feedback.

simply stating: "we have no plans to put up occasional downloads or
concert material nor outtakes in the near future. when and if these
or other things are in the pipeline, we will let you know in due
course. but for now, the site is strictly 'what you see is what you
get' with possibly a few more videos added to the dome over the year'".

boom. that would have been all.

Maybe it will be a black screen after tonight or either he'll just make it a free site. This way, no real obligations attached. We shall see, As of 3/24 12:13am EST, the site is still up

he lost interest in the site the SECOND the album was released. the website is named for the album. just like 3121.com was. and everybody FREAKED OUT when that went away. at the point of the cd release, he is on to the next project.

lotusflow3r is ancient history to him.

lost interest ? I don't know... doesn't key in quite right to me for some reason. maybe it's more about someone who is so creative that maybe.. just maybe they get a little overwhelmed by their own creative works ..sometimes?
now I'm just guessing... well.. I know I can overwhelm myself sometimes ..
but .. thing is .. the team should be managing the site and dealing with these things ...picking up the baton and carrying their fair share so to speak without having to be told to do their job. I mean there should be a team leader of the development team that is looking after these details. And making sure that the site and Prince looks good to the fans. IMHO.

Watching the hits on the videos onthe site ..to see whats being watched .. how many times ..and whats tapering off ..to see if it's time to go ask Prince what they can new vid's they can add...etc. While leaving him free'd up to do his thing.

Now maybe I'm just talking out my ...uhm, left elbow here ... lol. but it just seems to me that those in charge of the clerical aspect and tech. managing aspect have fallen down on the J.O.B. so everyone assume's it's Prince doing this cuz ... it's Prince's face on the LotusFlow3r, his site and nobody really knows who else is handling the site.

anyway .. I don't know. Just looks like a management issue to me. I do know managing. That's something I was fortunate to have received military style training in ..and some serious study and application of. So I'm not completely talking out of my arse. I don't know everything ..but I do know something.

its a shame that all this mess has to splash on Prince's shoes.

it should not have been. Seem like there's too much of that goin around all over. Like the Ireland thing ..the $ transfor thing ... whcih floored me how that was done. Whew.... if I'd done something like that in Escrow .. they'd come after me with pitch forks and tourches! ... that was .....a trip.

but what do I know.
this is the time of the first fast.

Prince could probably be given the benefit of the doubt but for the fact that ALL his web ventures seem to end up where this one is now.

I mean, is it not equally possible that those 'given the job' of developing the site were restrained; that Prince's control didn't allow for the type of input and flow of suggestions that could have kept the content fresh, updated and fluid...?

I guess we won't likely find out anytime soon. Maybe all the implied treats that never surfaced were publicised in good faith by the developers of the website, based on their understanding of Prince's perceived plans via conversations Prince had had with them. Then maybe Prince changed his mind/ didn't keep them 'in the loop' and just walked aay from the project.....

Clay declined to say how many paying members the site did attract, but he speculated that the number was a disappointment to Prince.

Depending on how and how often they had contact he could be right...

If I were Prince, I would not listen to much of what is said here. There is a lot of bitterness towards him, most coming from people who think he should be what they wish him to be. In the end, you have the power to either be a fan or not. To be here, day in day out, and you know who you are complaining constantly about him and what he should do is futile.
There are many opinions, but there are also a lot of *****, too. cool

No your not tripping lol I honestly believe that Prince was first embarrassed by the early failures of the site and secondly by the negative feedback from fans..

Prince observed the situation got into a strop and bailed on the site, the site managers and the new members. Its really sad that his Paisley management team weren't able to calm him down and take his ego out of the equation long enough to get the content for the site flowing again as im certain even with the clunky videos a lot more people would have joined.

sigh
One minute they want peace……

Then do everything to make it go away. rolleyes
