Among fans on a Prince website half didn't even feel it worth signing up for. 33% of sign-ups clearly have had a very poor experience with it, while only just under 16% have positive things to say.

16% of fans like an artist's website? That's awful, no? They already like the artist so it's not like they can even really be completely objective (like a captive audience, already being fans), yet still on the whole they feel shafted or are completely unmoved.

Why exactly do you think Prince fans are either so indifferent or so disappointed with his website? Does the indifference towards the website also reflect a waning interest in the music among fans? I can't see how it couldn't.

I remember the Crystal Ball scandal in 1997 (98?), I ordered the CB-cd set, but never got it, I even spend a huge amount on an expensive phonecall from Denmark to 1-800-new-funk, I talked to them but they couldn't help me... oh that was bad,

and now this lotusflow3r site with older material we own already, and no downloads, no news, (so I have heard, since I chose not to pay to be a member).

it's almost humiliating to be a Prince fan isn't it,

should 1 laugh or cry...

I am a member and early on was impressed with the site. As time progressed I became more dissatisfied with the lack of content. I knew that "whole" concerts would not be on the site but I did expect more than what they have done.My main problem is the fact that he could do more on the lines of the old NPGMC shows but he does not. WHY?

If you take away those that didn't sign up from the poll results, it's about 2-to-1 for Lotu$flower being a failure.

I am still loving the Lotusflower album, MPLS not so much save for a couple standout racks.

As far as the site goes I am disappointed but not surprised. Anyone who is going to spend that much money on the site will be a big enough fan that they will have already seen most of the videos posted. The T-shirt quality was simply embarrassing.

I love Prince but he really can be a cheap SOB.

I got my 3 CD's download, my T-shirt, some coachella videos and stuff i hadnt seen before, for 60 bucks.
I'm not gonna bitch about that, wasn't expecting much more.

I never signed up. I've learned too many times that Prince likes to screw his fans. Unless I can physically touch the CD or immediately download something after I pay money, I see no point in paying $77....especially DURING ONE OF THE WORST RECESSIONS OF THE U.S. MIND YOU!. Point is, if I can't get it...it doesn't exist and it never will. The promises of a new site with all his bells and whistles doesn't mean shit if I can't have access to great Prince music that Prince is withholding from his fans for his own personal financial gain. Prince, you can't take it with you when you die, release all of your Vault stuff. damnit! Off to listen to Metallica.

I feel that I can and done join other fan/band sites for far less money and gotten more then what lotusflowers members have gotten for their buck. Hell I even have gotten to talk to the artist/band in their chat room on their site.

The site had problems from the beginning.

I heard from others how terrible the site is(close people I trust) and they respected my decision not to join lotusflower.

So to each their own on this.

Prince really doesnt need a fanclub, its awesome he has one and does what he can, when he can and wants to. Remember HE DOESNT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING.

you get a ton of videos, exclusive videos, a t-shirt, ticket offerings for more than 4 shows w/priority seating, 3 full albums, exclusive photos.

Just be happy the site is still up!

I got a shirt, three albums, access to videos I hadn't ever seen as a newer fan (The Undertaker, The Sacrifice of Victor, etc. etc.). In addition, I got tickets to the Paisley Park gig, and while I could have got them at the door, I had a 14 hour drive so even the illusion of "being on a list" made me feel better about making that drive. If I had driven that long only to be turned away at the door, I would have been shattered.

I hope that more comes out of it, but if not, I won't resubscribe. With no announced plans of a tour, even a newer fan can only get so much use out of the site.
