It amazes me that Prince can have so little content on his site. The guy has a bank Vault full of unreleased songs, not to mention he has ever single concert he's ever done on tape.

Just put up live stuff. A different concert at the beginning of ever month. No brainer, keep your hard core fans happy I don't understand why Prince doesn't SELL those shows in Lotu$flower. The bootleggers have them all, anyway. Or, at the very least, the bootleggers have dozens of different shows from each tour. Prince could put all the bootleggers out of business by selling his own shows at the right price. Or, maybe a perk of Lotu$flower is that you get 10 shows free. Any person in their right mind would pay Prince $77 for 10 shows (plus the 3 new CDs). To buy 10 shows from bootleggers would cost $250 or more. And if the bootleggers made copies and then competed with Prince? Well, so what? They might siphon off some sales, but they still aren't going to be able to sell 10 shows for less than $77. And whatever Prince makes is gravy, anyway. The only thing I think I'm missing is what it would cost Prince to make those shows available for download. Is that cost-prohibitive?  Man, I have been the biggest Prince honk forever. I boarded the P train when I bought the newly-issued 45 RPM "Soft and Wet". Unless you were in one of Prince's early bands, you just can't get any more old-school than that. So it pains me to criticize the guy now. But he has not delivered the benefit of the bargain. And from where most of us sit, it appears that he's lost interest in the project. Even the most faithful of us know that when Prince loses interest in something, it is never rekindled. That's why I'm "negative". I hope I'm wrong and I'll certainly apologize if I am, but... Second Funkiest White Man in America It sure is nice having adults running our government now | |

Your post is honestly one of the most sincere things I've read on here in a while. Sometimes it seems people's complaints are so unfounded, ya know? But kudos to you, my friend.
