My understanding is that there were no promises regarding monthly updates of content. In fact, there is nothing in the 'Agreement' text about providing any further new material at all, though naturally, one may expect that.

I think perhaps some new material may be uploaded once Prince feels the 'Lotusflow3r' set has been fully digested. the idea of a website is too provide updated content as much as possible, studies show for a website to be successful it should provide content updates at least 4 times a day, so for a MONTHLY content update is pretty dumb and a website with a monthly content update is doomed to fail | |

[Edited 5/3/09 0:53am] I really try 2 support Prince and what he is trying 2 do, but this site is NOT what I was told it was going 2 be. If this site does not live up 2 the "plan", I will never support another Prince Website project. I will simple do what the non-payers do. This website so far is a waste of time and money. Regardless of what the conditions of the site say they are obliged to provide or not, Prince and his team are very, very stupid if they let this website slip away.
I think perhaps some new material may be uploaded once Prince feels the 'Lotusflow3r' set has been fully digested. Putting up content regularly is the easiest thing in the world, and we know he's got plenty of it. To a certain extent it wouldn't even matter what the content was, it'd keep the place alive. It is still early days of course, but it has been a considerable amount of time since anything changed on there. Perhaps Prince is waiting, as you suggest, until he feels the music has been fully digested. If he is then what we've got is not an actual website, it's just an online shop. We don't need the website to digest the music, what we need is content on the website to amuse us while we're digesting the music. There's simply no excuse for letting it stagnate. If Prince just wanted an online shop to sell his new 3cd set, then that should've been made clearer (and to all intents and purposes that's all it is at the moment). If he's waiting for new members he should stop, because anyone really interested in signing up has probably done so already. Anyone still thinking about it will have to come here to find out how to get into the sodding thing, so they'll no doubt be scared off by the mostly negative discussion about it, like this thread. It is without a doubt the deadest website I vist on a regular basis (or it would be if I bothered visiting it anymore but I don't, I come here instead and find out nothing has changed, and save myself time which would otherwise be wasted sitting waiting for that sodding intro to load). It's all very well wanting to create something different, a unique web experience or whatever, but with just 3 little rocks in an otherwise empty galaxy, it's a bloody short experience. And there's nothing unique about a dead website either, I know tons of them. Last time I visited it, I was amazed at how quickly* it loaded, and I've figured out why now : No traffic - no other bugger was bothering to visit it, so I probably had a whole server to myself. (* for a given value of 'quickly' - it still took bloody ages by normal standards) Let's hope somebody sticks a boot up somebody else's arse and gets some content uploaded, soon. Oook! cmon they should be hyping this album and give us some info on a tour to look forward too. the news section is still showing the opus info and to tune into Tavis' show next week and it's been almost a full week since Prince was on. I hope some seriously big stuff happens here sooner than later cuz the next thing you know we will try to log in and it will be a black screen again.
