Although I've been a Prince fan since around 1980 being in Australia and especially being in a state that is an Island off the Main Island of Aus I have missed out on many of Prince's dramams over the years...probably a good thing really. Even if I won Powerball which is 8 million NZ, I would not buy that shit, I would commission a jeweller to make a symbol pendant with some diamonds in it, and buy a series E Jaguar have it painted metallic purple with a huge gold symbol painted on the bonnet and top of the car. Then I would have a plush purple mohair (fake mohair like fake fur - eye love the animal kingdom) covers made for all my Prince books and it would cost me a lot less.
Opus sounds like a crock of shit to me, a load of modern Franklin Mint.

in essence, the book itself is that expensive. look at the other ones
they have up on that site. they are all rediculously expensive.

so if anything, the prince opus is good value for money with those 2
extra's thrown in to bling the whole thing up even more.

is it something i would consider buying, even if i had the money? no,
fcuz not, lol. it's ott and it's another case of repackaged goods we
already have and which, to be fair, are far from interesting, even if

i couldn't care less if he sold a book for a million pounds as long as
the people who joined his "entire new galaxy" would be treated to some
more stuff or at least be offered the chance to buy some more shows or
songs on cd/mp3 in a retail section.

maybe it's all yet to come but the timing of this book and it's promo
and link on the lotusflower site are beyond a slap in the face. it's
almost a spit in the face.

Prince lost the touch with the reality. Maybe he thinks that his fans are the friends of Paris Hilton, or the celebrities that used to go to his private aftershows. Why he does not release a DVD with this Documentary and a full concert? It would sell a lot, he would please fans and make money, but this opus thing, hwo many units will h e sell? 15?

Altho I'm sure 950 people exist that will gladly fork over $2100 for a purple Ipod, I'm not one of them.
The intrinsic value of what you are buying isn't close to that amount, and its value as a collector's item is unclear. Obviously the scarcity is artificial, so we have to trust Prince and this Opus company on their blue eyes that what you're buying won't ship for $75 this time next year.

I'm somewhat confused about the intended target audience for this merchandise though. I'm not in the slightest against creating money sinks for people with spare cash, but I do wonder who they are aiming for with their payment plans and 20k lottery. It's not the type of marketing I would usually expect from upper market items.

I've been reading this thread and others concerning Prince's new lotusflow3r website with a lot of intrest. I haven't posted for a while but now i really got the urge to do so...
In order for our Purple midget to maintain his luxurious lifestyle he first gave us the 21nights book with a lot of pictures split down the middle and in fact a lot of pictures of furniture and corridors and not so many pictures of those 21 nights mentioned in the title. Then he tricked us into believing his new website was going to be amazing and state of the art, even setting a new standard. A new standard it is, a new standard in cheating fans of fams or whatever into donating $77 into his bank account. Nothing is new about this site, absolutely nothing, except for the 3 cd's which can be bought elsewhere for $11,98. one of these cd's isn't even Prince, it's soft diarrhea inducing R&B flubber. Now, the next step is the most disgusting one, a link through the website of nothingness that takes you to the ultimate Purple Scam. A $2100 rip-off of the same book mentioned earlier, with music already released and a very very special video on a f*cking ipod, at least have the decency to put in on a dvd in acceptable quality. So, your paying for a cardboard box that holds a video on a 3 X 4 cm screen.
How far can this prick go into humiliating the people that got him him where he is today ? Not only does he want total control over the media, he wants your wallet too. That would not be a problem, if he was honest in the way he distributes his music and informs his fans correctly about what they are about to invest in , instead of being vague and using that as a means to extort money from the people who love(d) his music.
I liked him better when he said "f*ck" once in a while and produced normal cd's instead of the cheating reformed Jehova's Witness he has become...

Our only hope 2 ever c it is that some bootlegger will buy it and burn 5000 copies of it in order 2 get his money back.

I went to the Opus store in Covent Garden today.They were showing 21 nites on flat screen with no volume, there was also a brochure of minature photos from Randees book, so tiny you couold hardly see them.
