i'm assuming that you are big fan of that song and that sound, which really doesn't fall in line with the experimental funky stuff that Prince was doing in the 80s, the memories of which is what keeps most people coming back.

as far as the new music goes, I got my hands on it this afternoon and I cannot say that I've heard anything that blows me away. a lot of lotusflow3r seems like easy listening music to me, while mplsound tries to catch the old magic and comes close but doesn't quite do it in most cases.

i think most of the reviews (rolling stone, etc) that come out in the next few days will not be as kind as the early ones have been. looking at it now, i can really appreciate this idea - give the fans of guitar/rock songs a disc and the fans of the electronic funky shit a disc, but i think that the focus wasn't strong enough on either style to really deliver on either one. to me, it came out more like "Planet Earth 2" (Lotus) and "Musicology 2" (MPLS), with neither as good as the original. like any hardcore fan I will give it more listens and see if I come out with a different impression.

I could not be more disappointed in the website. He needs to fire/sue the designers.

But, like most fans, I'm about the music and I'm liking both Prince CD's. Lotusflow3r exceeded my expectations and MPLsound has some gems.

If I'm ever on an 8 hour drive, I'll listen to Bria.

Now not to make this about Bart but yes there is reason to complain about the sites mishaps recently but to dismiss the music? Its just his schtick that he has been doing since 1997.
