The site's not even finished yet, genius.

The record company has no say in what an artist's website looks like.

If they did, they'd all look alike.

Very true. It looks more like a Scientology or some other grade B cult recruitment site than one to distribute pop music. Considering the blind faith his fams have in him, I suppose it's therefore rather fitting.

LOL...

Some of you need to get some help... really. Therapy or meds may solve these issues you have with your constant pissing on a fan site dedicated to an artist you obviously no longer like or respect. Its not even about the music... you claim to not like anything since gawd knows when.

Living on what used to be and comparing everything to it is really pathetic.

If you don't like the show... just go. Quit sounding like the spurned GF who won't lose the number.

I have nothing against constructive or negative criticism... or even pessimistic views. but damn! Too much.

QUESTION:

Do Prince's online fans get priority access to his concert tickets?

I know this place is unofficial, but is there somewhere we can register in case?

hat was the case with previously at his official site. In recent times fans at the un-official sites where given info in advance as to how to obtain tickets to events and even have won tickets as well... courtesy of P himself (or his public relation peeps)

I think the front page graphic is cool, I'm taking a guess it's the album cover.

If it's an example of the rest of the site, this should be Prince's slickest looking website (admittedly there isn't much competition despite the mounting number of official sites there's been).

No, there isn't. You can try and force any number of Hindu or Buddhist allusions into this piece until the cows come home, no pun intended, but the only thing you'll be doing is trying to fit a slapdash Photoshop 101 image into something deeper than a pothole.

Prince isn't exploring world religions or its symbols. He's an admitted member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, end of spiritual discussion.
No hard feelings.

Good to know u are an art major! I have taken several classes myself, but still wonder about the deepness of this famous piece.
Can u help? (yeah it is a lil off topic, but since it went there anyway)

Entitled:
Edvard Munch's famous paintings "The Scream"
It's a girl, um, screaming...
Yeah, is she sad? scared? if scared, of what? what does this symbolize?
She appears to be on a bridge...
I guess I could just google the meaning...
OR, I could take from it, what I get from it...which is not much..lol

Don't forget the happy couple in the background.

LOL, No doubt! They are happy that the girl is scared!

I guess it will all be downloadable biggrin

doh!

I would have been much much happier just going to the local EMI shop, give my 40-50€ for all three albums and tell the salesmen to tell people to buy these CDs, then walk home, holding them CDs in my hands, looking at them, smelling the fresh smell of untouched booklets. At home I would enjoy the sound of removing the CD from the cover for the first time to the top (I love that little "crack"), put it in my CD player, turn up the volume, lie down between the speakers and listen to each CD.

No stupid credit cards and stupid data. And no problems with purchasing them for a 16-year-old. My money is worth just as much as someone's who has been a fan for 25 years.

Hey Dave...
Don't worry. He is suppose to be in works with a major retailer as well, so you can purchase it physically from that retailer, OR online...
Just do not know who the retailer is yet.

Maybe he hasn't secured any deals with retailers, and that's why this website has sprung outta nowhere. I think his hand has been forced, and whether he likes the internet or not, he's been left with no choice.

As I said before (dunno whether it was this thread) we don't have anything like Walmart and all that over here in Europe, so the only possibility of getting a physical CD would be ordering it at amazon or something, right?

Still I liked the days when I got up early on a Saturday morning to get the CD as soon as possible...

"Prince will release not one, but three albums in the new year. He's in final negotiations with "a major retailer" to distribute the music in physical form, and a highly interactive website will also provide an opportunity to buy. "

Here is what was said by LA times. Not that they are correct, but that is what Prince told them...
I will get you the link.

[Edited 1/5/09 5:17am]

So, it has not really sprung outta "nowhere". It has been done like many New Prince Things have been done...
"Without much warning"
It's pretty normal, I think.
