I miss the NPG Music Club

I liked having a "new" slice of Prince music every other week, even if it was just a remix that I owned already anyway biggrin

Such a shame that especially Prince with his supposedly huge vault of songs is not using the Internet anymore to do distribution to the fans...

I'm miffed because those protected media files I bought from the NPG a long time ago, you know, the ones that need to check and make sure they're licensed before playing? They don't play anymore because it can't find the licensing source.

I ripped them to my mp3 player, but when I transfer them back they don't play again....

So once my mp3 players finished, so is my access to those files sad

Glass Cutter, Silver Tongue, Magnificent, some live stuff, etc.

I'm only in it for the music.

I miss the NPGmusicclub too...I did enjoy waking up saturday morning just to see what song would be in the "Glam Slam."

I miss it too but who's to say that Prince isn't working on an even better way to get his music to the fans. OK, with the Sunday Mail was an interesting approach but it was something different to test the water. I've got my fingers crossed.....

I made it certain to burn those to CD.

I just can't understand why he just doesn't hire a decent IT firm to handle his websites??? Everytime there's a website it always ends up busted in one way or another...I just find it so sad that the only way we had to hear anything about him was through the "official" sites and they never seemed to work properly. One day they're up and the next day it's a black screen, as in the case of the last one 3121. And now he's virtually left us all out to dry with no info whatsoever. It's a wonder he still has any fans left the way he's totally isolated himself from his fans....Oh well, I guess he has his reasons....

I guess he is getting old. Old people give up on new technology, they can't keep up with the speed of development. Instead they go nostalgic and wish themselves back to the days when money was a coin in your hand and not a creditcard with a pincode. Prince is the same; real music with real musician playing in the moment, not music coming from your pc and speakers... I wish he would return to his innovativeness and realize that music is not the highest art, connecting with people is! He was really good at that once... I miss the music club bawl
