New Paisley Newz ONA Live Tease and Prices in 1957.

You guys get where he is going with the 1957 comments right? Some things that are not seen as a bargin now will be seen that way in the future.

October 16:
HOLD ON 2 UR WIGS!!!...
Slammin' Afterparties all across Europe: THE ONE NITE ALONE LIVE CD..."the next best thing 2 being there!"- Napoleon, avid Prince fan and club member since his death.

Comments made in the year 1957:
"I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way they are, it's going to be impossible to buy a week's groceries for $20."

"Have you seen the new cars coming out next year? It won't be long before $5000 will only buy a used one."

"If cigarettes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit. A quarter a pack is ridiculous.."

"Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging a dime just to mail a letter?"

"If they raise the minimum wage to $1, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store."

"When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday cost 29 cents a gallon. Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage."

"Kids today are impossible. Those duck tail hair cuts make it impossible to stay groomed. Next thing you know, boys will be wearing their hair as long as the girls."

"I'm afraid to send my kids to the movies any more.. Ever since Clark Gable got by with saying 'damn' in 'Gone With The Wind,' it seems every new movie has either "hell" or "damn" in it."

"I read the other day where some scientist thinks it's possible to put a man on the moon by the end of the of the century. They even have some fellows they call astronauts preparing for it down in Texas."

"Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract for $75,000 a year just to play ball? It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making more than the president."

"I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be electric. They are even making electric typewriters now."

"It's too bad things are so tough nowadays. I see where a few married women are having to work to make ends meet." "It won't be long before young couples are going to have to hire someone to watch their kids so they can both work."

"Marriage doesn't mean a thing any more; those Hollywood stars seem to be getting divorced at the drop of a hat."

"I'm just afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the door to a whole lot of foreign business."

"Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the Government takes half our income in taxes. I sometimes wonder if we are electing the best people to congress."

"The drive-in restaurant is convenient in nice weather, but I seriously doubt they will ever catch on."

"There is no sense going to Lincoln or Omaha anymore for a weekend. It costs nearly $15 a night to stay in a hotel."

"No one can afford to be sick any more; $35 a day in the hospital is too rich for my blood."

"If they think I'll pay 50 cents for a hair cut, forget it."

1957 - the year before Prince was born. I think he's saying that things that were cheap in the past are much more expensive with Prince. A $75 3CD set, anyone?

Hey, wasn't Crystal Ball $50 for 5 CDs? Now NPGMC is $100 for 4 CDs. Hmmm...

[I'd like to avoid jumping to conclusions about the CDs until the end of the year, but it's getting a little hard with no real word from NPGMC]

right. gotcha. god forbid we should be dissatisfied with crappy customer service and a ONA live CD set featuring different versions of songs we ALREADY HAVE after paying $25.00 per CD thhis year. . .

trust the NPGMC to come up with THAT logic wink

and, judging from the way prices are going up, shouldn't we be paying $200 per CD because that's what they'll cost in the year 2050??

if the ONA CD set retails to the general public for less than what we pay as 'premium members' THEN i'll know the true definition of the word "member" and into what part of my anatomy, exactly, the NPGMC will be sticking said member

Ohhh... Please spare us! I guess Prince has never heard of adjusting for inflation. Where are my economists?

Blah, blah, blah, crap, crap, crap. Please Prince/NPGMC... if you're going to talk, PLEASE give us something with substance. What a waste. If you want to give the fans information, here's a couple of questions to answer:

1. When will ONA Live be released and how much will it cost?

2. When will the remaining promised 3 cds from this year's NPGMC package be released to the members?

Other things said in 1957:

"At this rate, someday rock and rollers will charge upwards of $100 for a piano record and a live record, when they promise 4 records."
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Yes,I was thinking that his parents had to worry about these issues when his mother was carrying him and look at Inflation now,but Really like I always said Prince's Prices are Fair. This is 2002 things are crazy Expensive. You can be brought up one way but it doesn't matter cause even if you call yourself Old Skool or say I'm 44 well that's no Excuse or I'm Black and You're White and Blond! So What! Interracial is the way to go. I feel the Boundaries Must be Broken ,must be Torn Down. 1957 is way Over and this is a New Time and Place and the Future is Ours! Grab It and Make it Your Own! Get rid of Conventionality and Old Thinking . Make some New Rules! Like Prince said at One Time I WISH THERE WERE NO RULES! HE also said I WISH THERE WAS NO BLACK OR WHITE! REMEMBER THIS FANS AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO PREDUJICE OR HATRED EVER! BE PEACEFUL AND LOVING TO OUR HEAVENLY FATHER GOD! LOVE GOD! PRINCE IS HIS SON. LOVE HIM TOO.

I hope to god that NPGMC isn't implying that we should gladly throw down extra money for Prince's music because of inflation.

Perhaps they need to be reminded that this is 2002, not 2057. CD's cost $15 not $25. 1957 was almost 50 years ago. Prince will more than likely have kicked the bucket 50 years from now.

There is no fucking way in hell I would gladly pay inflated prices now of what they would potentially be 50 years in the future. Especially for the garbage the club has been putting out.

I think Prince took up a new hobby, SMOKING CRACK.

Prince has my continued support . I can't understand you guys. Money isn't an object when you are a fan. Just work and make money and stop complaining. Prince ain't a Charity or Welfare Office. Stop the Bullshit now! He's worth his weight in Gold and worth every Penny to see him!I wouldn't want him sacrificing for anything.
