i'll be buying my copy from the wrecka stow on release day - i don't trust the mail to get anything to me on time, if at all - but the pin might be a fun little curiosity to own. shrug

$5.40 for Standard shipping (Arrival 7-10 business days after the release date)
$9.98 for Standard Expedited (Arrival 5-7 business days after the release date)
$13.60 for Express shipping (Guaranteed for arrival on release date)

I think I'll spend the 50 cents in gas to drive across street to the wrecka stow come 3/21.

I don't mind handing Prince my $$$ when it comes to a new release, but 13.60 is a pack of huggies.

That "U.S. residents only" clause was for the sweepstakes Universal is running. Since reportedly these purple tickets will also be placed in CD's sold outside the U.S., I assume the same rule doesn't apply.

I couldn't resist and ordered it. I know some people on npgmc.com were talking about getting a specific button to to wear, wonder if this is it?

I realized the other day that I posted in the Celebration thread about P. inviting people Willy Wonka style a year ago.
Love wins. (Seen on bumpersticker)

OK, I'm confused... neutral

I assume only npgmc members got the e-mail, but this appears to be a completely different site with a completely different registration and login and is not connected to your npgmc membership... am I right?

And as for the shipping costs - sheesh! - if I want it on the release date, I think I'll bypss the pin and go to local wrecka stow!

Or what about pre-order via Amazon for $10.98 without the pin...

Hmmmm...

Yes. We bought "N.E.W.S." through them (musictoday) a little while back.

I ordered through Music Today via this e-mail. They are partnered with npgmusicclub so I want to support that venture. Besides...I feel like an ass for previewing the album before the release date, so the extra $10 is my petance.

Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another

It should have a sound bite on that page from the Time: "This is for the rich people"

Seriously, I'd rather pay the artist directly, but that shipping cost just ain't in my budget and why wait another 5 - 10 days with the other shipping options. Not complaining, because I'll be heading over to the store that day.

Just think of it as "valet" service. I'll just park my own dern car. That price just seems like the extream over-night delivery senerio if it was going from the east coast to the west coast. I've seen other sites that integrate the proper charge depending on the distance.

Well I am just glad all you miserable old buggers are not bothering to order to get the pin. Should mean I get mine guaranteed.

As for when I'll get it? I am in the UK so it won't get to me for 2 to 5 weeks but as I am keeping this as my "sealed" copy for my collection, I'll have been to my wrecka stow on day of release to get the copy that I'll actually be playing in the car.

So, to paraphrase Cartman "Screw You Guys, I'm getting mine sent to my home!"

Cheers Numpties!

Last time I check Prince wasn't the owner of UPS, FEDEX or DHL. The shipping price is set by the shipping company NOT the sender. $13.60 is actually not bad for overnight shipping compared to normal rates...

Holy hell -- I'll guarantee you that I'll buy the CD on release day from a local store for the same price you'd have to pay the club for shipping of the CD for guaranteed arrival on release day.

When I first saw the e-mail promoting the release through the club with shipping on the 17th, I was set on doing it that way. But you have to be completely crazy to buy the disc through the club and pay those shipping costs. $13.60 buys another disc, or an entire album with $4 to spare on iTunes.

shrug

Uh, you can ship a CD via US Priority Mail for about $4 with 2-3 day delivery. If they ship on March 17 as stated, that would guarantee delivery by the release date. Even if you add $2 for a "handling" charge, it sure makes $13.60 a total ripoff.
