Is NPGMC Worth The $25?

I'm considering joining but seeing how many people come to this forum speaking of problems w/ the site is it a waste of my money?

Depends on your situation. If you are going to be seeing Prince live anytime in the near future it's worth joining for the tickets.

If you want new Prince music it is being offered VERY slowly but there is some music on there.

If you have a Mac you may experience problems downloading songs.

If, like me, you can't download and/or burn music it may not be worth it.

Why that fool refuses to give us what we want (more cd's) is beyond me.

Well, of course I meant different cd's. Lucky you. I wish I had a pile of Musicology cd's. No live Prince for me. Sometimes it really sucks living in Nova Scotia!

It's been a trip. And it's lasted me over a year or whatever, with no end in sight.

I honesty don't know why you wouldn't join.

i would join for access to cheaper tickets. i don't go in chat and its not too often that i use their message board (until lately, anyway, lol)...i prefer the org...but it does have the benefit of getting tickets first and with no service fee from ticketmaster. for two tickets thru t-master, you pay an additional 25 bucks in fees anyway. you may as well join the club for 25 bucks and support p rather than t-master.

From the heart!! It's been the best damn $25.00, I've ever spent!! And when I'm looking at Prince again this Friday from a seat so close I can count the hairs on his chest when he rips open his shirt. Or if the heavens are really smiling down upon me and I'm chosen to get up on the stage and party with him, I'll be remembering how well that $25.00 was spent!!

I got front row tickets to a show. I got to see him perform live at Muchmusic. I bought the One Nite Alone Live set at the concert for $35 less than in stores so in my opinion the club is worth it. So far I haven't see any music worth downloading from the club so I would agree with previous replies, join if Prince is coming to your town.

I wasn't willing to pay the $100 to join when it used to cost that much. Unfortunately, I missed out on a few things, but I wouldn't find that worth it.

$25, though? DEFINITELY worth it. Like others have said, it's most beneficial if you're going to get tickets. That's totally worth it. After that, I would say that if you crave new material beyond "offical" store releases, it's worth it. You can download without a membership, but at a higher cost.

Even my wife, who wouldn't normally support one of my "entertainment habits," looked at me from our third row seats last month and said: "Okay...that was money well-spent." So there's your true proof!

For concert tickets...oh hell yeah! I had 2nd row seats!!! I brought my friend to the show and he just couldn't believe it when the usher led us all the way to the front! Then I also had the chance to attend the private taping of his MuchMoreMusic performance/interview...but I missed it cuz I didnt check my email until after the fact sad

If you can afford $25 then join.

What have you got to lose?

You'll have forgotten about the subscription money by the time next payday comes around.

And you'll be a part of it all, even if it's controversial.

I've had my share of complaints about the club, but ultimately I'm so glad I've joined. If you're happily subscribing to your internet service provider, then another one-off $25 to join the NPGMC isn't worth quibbling about.

There, I've said it.

When the price was $100, I got into several soundchecks and had 2nd row seats in NY and 1st row in Kansas City for some small venues. It was worth it. This year, the $25 has gotten me 2nd row, 8th row and 5th row. Not bad actually. Well worth it for me.
