AFTERPARTY!!!! What is the deal with Afterparties? I'm going to LA Staples Center show tonight (3/26), and wondering how these aftershows are getting announced? Do they tell you when you pick up your tickets? Does he announce it on NPG Music Club, in an emale, during the show, after the show? Is it just word-of-mouth? I'm confused. This ain't like the ONA tour.
Also for those who have gone to an aftershow on this tour, from my understanding it's not included in the price of the concert ticket, right? So do NPG members get special treatment at these small clubs? Or is it just a free-for-all? And since Prince is now popular again, are the aftershows still full of fams or has the masses taken over? SOMEONE HELP ME OUT!!! ANY ANSWERS WOULD BE GREAT!!!

There have been a few afterPARTIES on this tour, but from all that I have read, only one afterSHOW has taken place and that was at his Tennessee show. It was $20 for everyone, member or not. These events, if they are truly an NPG gig, will be announced at the end of the concert so wait around for a little bit after the house lights come on. More than one moderator on NPGMC has stated that this is how they announce the aftershows, if there are any. Yes, in the past, the aftershows were free to NPGMC members, but as you know, the club is pretty big now and I guess they just can't offer that perk on this huge tour

We went to the concert in Birmingham and Nashville. The afterSHOW in Nashville was only announced ONCE over the PA right as the concert ended. It was very hard to hear and they only said the location once. We went for $20 each. He only actually sang one of his songs, Dear Mister Man, I think, but they played for a little over 2 hours. It was great though. He came down in the audience and went back to where they control sound. At one point, he suddenly stopped and said we are outta here. A few people left but everyone screamed until they all came back and played another 45 minutes or so. There were at most 200 people there. It was very small and not very crowded. It was a no smoking, no alcohol show which was great because our 8 year old was with us. As we were walking to our car, we walked on the street behind the building and the whole band and Prince himself were out back. He talked to the group of about 10 fans for maybe 20-30 minutes. He was very sweet to my daughter. John Blackwell signed our CD. Prince passed out some religious pamphlets.
