Date Change to April 20 Prince: Live on the Big Screen at Target Center, Minneapolis

From StarTribune.com

Even Prince himself wouldn’t have complained about this one: Target Center has rescheduled next weekend’s “Prince: Live on the Big Screen” event from Saturday, April 21 (the second anniversary of his death), to a night earlier to accommodate a Minnesota Timberwolves playoff game that night.

Tickets to the original date will still be honored at the Friday, April 20, rescheduled date, which is still set to start at 8 p.m. About the only thing that will be different is the band for the show – alumni from Prince’s various groups – will have one less day to rehearse.

Plenty of tickets remain for the “live” event, which will feature the cast of mostly lesser-known musicians playing along to concert footage of Prince. Seats can be bought for $39-$199 at the arena box office, TargetCenter.com, or by calling 1-888-9-AXS-TIX. Two-for-one discounts were also being offered via Travelzoo, a sign that questions may still linger over whether Prince would’ve approved of the event and simply how the show will be put together. Organizers at Paisley Park declined the Star Tribune’s request to interview some of the participants.

Paisley Park will have to shuffle the schedule for its second annualCelebration, happening at the Chanhassen studio-turned-museum next Thursday through Sunday, April 19-22. The schedule for the event is not made public ahead of time, but presumably the headliner that was scheduled to perform there Friday will now play Saturday.

LOL, just another day in the life of being a Prince fan. Some things never change, after-show anyone LOL....now very curious to see how Paisley handles us Track 1 peeps as Track 1 was originally 11-1:40 and 2 @ 3-5:40 for the Sat show. Now it will likely reverse. Getting over to the Target Center on a Friday night at that time?? Ugh VIP Row 15 for sure. Maybe they could have a bus or 4 from Paisley as they can take an express lane direct to downtown. Just a suggestion my Purple Fam @ the Park...Friday night is going to be tough logistically.

Get on the BUS (Boat) PEEEPLE!

Plenty of tickets still remain? Ugh. Not feeling confident about this show. I hope it’s good. But I can’t imagine the vibe will be great if the stadium is only 1/2 or 2/3 full. Maybe they’ll let some people in the cheap seats move to better seats.

U no it Motherfunka LOL!!!! I remember being glued to the radio (before the internet) waiting to hear on a Friday tix on sale next Monday, 9 AM Box office only LOL. Hit-n-Run Tour...they weren't kidding back in 86. Just go with the flow....Prince taught me to lower expectations when going to see his 40 plus shows and more often than not (in fact 99%) you will be in for a pleasant surprise.

I still like the bus concept from Paisley tho.... Hey Paislely...can U hear me? smile
