I just picked up my ticket. No big queues. Ticket collection is in a separate room (Utzon Room) with a view out on the harbour.

What's funny is that outside is the Queen (Queen Elizabeth berthed on Athol Buoy) and inside is the Prince. The Queen will move to the Overseas Passenger Terminal next to the Opera House tomorrow morning at 7.

As far as I'm concerned there's only one royalty in town smile can't wait for the first show to start. Super excited. Just had my pre-dinner. Frankies pizza and a nice IPA. Bring on the show.

Just out...incredible!

Two hours

Forgot the words to at least four or five songs but it was still great...he stopped and hung his head when he missed the opening line of Purple Rain! Then he dedicated it to Vanity and picked up again

Highlight for me was Joy in Repetition

Not long till show two!

Sometimes it snows in April was in there and a little Under the Cherry Moon.
He was in fantastic voice including the falsetto - amazing !
Sometimes felt like I was at a honky tonk show but just incredible.
Sydney Opera House bathed in purple light tonight so very special.

I forgot to ad, there is a huge organ that is located high above the Concert Hall. This couldn't be seen by all and was lit at various times though the show. It looked ethereal when Little Red Corvette and the red kaleidoscope stage was happening as it was coloured purple - the purple over the red was just simply amazing like the concert.

At the risk of sounding like an obsessed fan, what a special moment in music history. We are truly blessed to witness such greatness.

Prince should record these shows for future generations to appreciate.

Free yourself finished with the crowd singing the chorus for what felt like 2 minutes after P left the stage.

The crowd was captivated. Thunderous, never ending applause and whistling. 360 degree crowd. The show was brilliant and P knew it, judging by the increased length.

I'm sure he played a verse of Sweet Thing too. Somewhere around The Beautiful Ones. He played the opening bars in the second show as well but pulled it after s few seconds.

Great shows. I'm honoured to have witnessed these historic events in the Sydney Opera House. To me it was as significant as watching the Sydney Olympics Opening Ceremony. I mean in terms of Prince most likely never performing at the Opera House again.

It's just such a big deal! These are great times to be a Prince fan!

Yes, he played the first few lines then stumbled at the words. He stopped and people laughed, so he shook his head and went to pick up where he left off, only to realise he had still got it wrong do he turned round and wagged his finger and shook his head at the front of the crowd who were cheering and laughing. It was all very playful

Girl

Show started at 7.00pm
I was 10 rows from the front sitting directly behind Kathy Mcabe who had pen and paper and was writing down set list and notes throughout the show, she seemed to be really into the show which was cool! Her review is up now and is pretty spot on.

Can't remember exact set list but princevault.com has it pretty close so I won't go into details. Was great to hear his more recent songs like Big City, Screwdriver and the show highlight of Free Urself. Prince was definitely feeling the vibe and was in a great mood. To me there seemed to be a theme about relationships in this show, he wasn't overly talkative but when he was it was mainly about love and relationships.

There were times however where I felt like he wanted to bust out from the piano and dance/play guitar or where he wished he had a band with him so it will be interesting to see how long this solo concept continues.

There are people that have seen him hundreds of times but I think this was my 20th show and I would say its 2nd on my all time favourites.

Yes, me too. This was my first ever Prince concert in about 30 years where I didn't dance. It was strange just to sit and listen. I always loved it when he played piano during his past concerts, but when he only plays piano a lot is missing in my opinion. He has so much more to offer. I want to hear him play guitar, I want to see him dance, I want to see him pose with some pretty girls, and I want to dance and dance and dance myself.

I'm not complaining, no way, it was a great show, but it was certainly not in my top 5. I feel like this is the kind of show he could play in Las Vegas for the rest of his life.

he played 4 from the madhouse 8 album,it came after Dorothy..

I personally thought the concert got off to a slow start but by the hand he had everyone eating out of his hand and we just wanted more. the crowd was so alive compared to the 1st show of the secong night in melbourne

Joy,Dorothy,4 and Sometimes were the highlights for me. P playing a 2hr set was exactly what we wanted to see. Hes the greatest musician of our time. Who else could get on stage these days with a piano and a mic and be so entertaining, hes taking us back to when they did that stuff in the 1950s. A true artist.

Thank you Prince for sharing history with us. It has been over 24 hours and I'm still overwhelmed by the memories he left me.

Saturday February the 20th in the Sydney Opera House at 7pm in my eyes can lay claim to being the single greatest solo musical performance of all time.

Has any other solo artist performed better than Prince... ever?
