What's your opinion and advice on the best site to start from for Tickets on Tuesday?

1: Ticketek & Ticketmaster

2: Opera House & State Theatre

3: Dainty Group International site

Will they all link to the same source or just assign receipts from their direct site purchase page?

Keep the faith. Prepare yourself, have your credit card armed and ready to go, along with your Ticketmaster account and be ready to play at 11:50am Tuesday morning.

Great advice.

Thanks. Will do. Have never seen Prince live and would do, and pay, just about anything to tick this one off my bucket list.

Just signed up for the Ticketmaster account and have $800 on standby, that should be at least 2 tix and a grab bag of merch.

.

Now let us all pray....

.

Catholic fans, anyone thinking of a mass of thanks and a few te deums and hail marys?

I am in awe. Prince suddenly decides to tour down under!!! I will be there to witness history by buying tickets to Sydney's State Theatre. I would like to warn you all that the majority will be scrambling over the Opera House and missing out, while tickets for the State Theatre will be much easier to get at midday before selling out. I sure do hope I get tickets.

It's only fair to "warn" you that once you see him live you won't tick it off any list: you'll want to do it again.

I've seen him live twice and will be at the ready on Tuesday hoping to make it three.

If he plays four shows on two consecutive nights, which one is:

1. likely to sell out first;

2. likely to sell out last;

3. likely to be the best?

Opera House - which of course is the one I need. No fucking way I'm missing it for anything.

2. likely to sell out last;

i think they'll all sell pretty quick shrug

3. likely to be the best?

Traditionally 2nd nights are best - not just Prince but in general.

Would love to go to the NZ Shows - cant make it midweek neutral

Let's not kid ourselves - these tix are gonna be pricey as!

This is my concern. If the tickets are around the $300 mark, I'm not sure I can justify that for a guy (yes, even Prince) and just a piano.

Around $200 seems reasonable to me. For typical Australian ticket prices, anyway. I paid $260 to see Janet Jackson at the Adelaide festival theatre in 2011 - and that was with a band, dancers, lighting, etc...

.

If U skip it because of the price U will forever regret it.. I was at the PP shows and I can tell U this was the most fascinating and powerful show I've ever seen.. I know it's hard to imagine but it was more raw and personal than anything he's done before.. U have to experience it, it really is one of a kind...U won't even realize it's only a piano because Prince sucks U in and it's like a spiritual journey... It was magic lol

I have a feeling it won't be that much like $139 or so, Prince charged Bugger all at Paisley Park and all concert goers got a free Hitnrun Phase 2 CD. I will factor in more Ca$hmonae though for buying Merch at the stall.

.

This will be a blast!!!!

Actually only VIP tix which were $250 gave U a free purple box with the CD and randomn other stuff in it. The GA $100 didn't get anything... I had one of each tix smile

So I should pay a ridiculous price as well as accomodation and flights for like a spiritual journey?

Last month I flew to Minneapolis to see the PP shows. I have no regrets. I'll spend my money on experiences over things any day of the week. And seeing him alone playing the "piano" was amazing. Im a guy who doesnt carry a balance on his credit cards, and that trip will take a couple months to pay off. But it doesn't bother me because it was worth it. But as inspireof said... Prince on his concert tour in Australia: ‘This show is 4 me, the fans and history’

February 5, 2016 11:00pm

Prince announced he will bring his concert to Australia this month.

While he has always stepped away from the arena stage to perform secret club shows for his legion of loyal fans, the shock announcement of his Piano & A Microphone tour on Friday exploded social media into a frenzy of fanboy and fangirl glee.

Just two weeks after he premiered his solo show with two sets at his Minnesota headquarters, Prince suddenly revealed he would take it on the road to perform 10 concerts in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland in February.

As he teased his Down Under fans with the tour details on Twitter and via his longtime Australian promoter Paul Dainty on Friday, I received the invitation of a lifetime.

An extremely high ticket price will be hard to manage for many but it also increases our chances of getting one as the fair weather box ticking "Isn't he called symbol now" masses drop out of contention.

At least € 1000. After all, you need to add the cost of a plane ticket and Sydney is about as far away from the Netherlands as you can possibly get. (With the exception of New Zealand.)

I agree, I want to be sitting next to a hardcore fan,not some person with a Ford T shirt on, saying "I hope he plays Purple Rain and that other song about doves".

.

The Australian shows of 2012 were full of these mamma jammas to the point, mots people thought I was insane being a real fan.

.

I am guessing there will only be on type of ticket and it won't be that pricey. If its under $100 expect all the fairweather I own Purple Rain and possibly Diamonds and Pearls crowd (Who dusted the albums off) to come.

$100 - $250 A mix with more hardcore up to $250

$250 - $400 Mostly hardcore and the Britomart stompers (Auckland Yuppies)

$400 - Almost no body and a public campaign in the papers about the greed of some people and groups in a recession.

.

The theatres are only 1000 - 2000 and don't really have VIP areas and if they did, they would only be front row.

.

Dainty/Ticketmaster should go further and ask several Prince related questions and if you get too many wrong you move off the priority list for tickets.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

^Sorry, Adore, but I disagree. A concert shouldn't be for diehard fans only. There will always be an element of luck. Am I the greatest Kate Bush fan in the world? No, but a girl who couldn't make it to her London shows offered her ticket online and I grabbed the chance. If somebody had asked me: What was the second single of Kate's third LP? I would have gone confuse but does that mean I didn't enjoy the concert? No! I hope you'll make it, Adore, it's a once in a lifetime chance, but, as always, you just have to be lucky. All the best... thumbs up! hug

Bottom 4 rows may be the VIP area, I am going VIP this time around if I can afford it. The closer to Prince the better.

Yes but the diehard fans should have prioirty over the fairweather fans who have heard 2 albums by Prince in their lives. Plus its New Zealand a country completely neglected by Prince and many other artists, so its going to be a royal rumble here.
