$35 cover, doors are 9:30 at Paisley,

I saw FKA twigs at the Fine Line tonight, where she played about an hour.

Whole club was fogged with dry ice, minimal lighting on stage and she didn't say much in between songs.

Dressed a bit like Aaliyah, moved in a middle-eastern contortioning way like Mayte, and had a falsetto at times similar to a "Thieves in the Temple/ 7- era" Prince.

She's gorgeous, but I was half bored.

Boyfriend Robert Pattinson was in LA for the Hollywood Film Awards, so wasn't at her show like he was in NYC and Toronto.

I talked to someone on her crew about Paisley and he knew about her performance, but didn't know if Prince and band were playing as well.

I just don't see her collaborating on stage with him either.

Girls were handing out flyers for the Paisley show as people left the show tonight.

Tix were $20 tonight and though the Paisley soundstage is all around better (vs. the Fine Line), can't justify paying almost twice as much, to see her again.

There is a good possibility that she won't perform in the soundstage area. It will probably be in the Love 4 One Another/NPGMC room.

i seriously wanted to go, but when i left to head out for paisley park my car slid all over the road, even just coming from my driveway into the drive. it seemed like the more well traveled road was even slipperier than my backstreet. i only have two wheel drive, and don't want to end up in a ditch like i saw someone earlier. gonna have to miss this event, me. i'm too chicken to try and drive cause it's still snowing out there sad wish the party were on livestream. sorry to miss this!!!!!

According 2 Funkenberry's twitter, not only did FKA Twigs perform, but Prince & the ladies did 2 sets!

That would justify the $35.00 to see her and him perform. Dag!!!

It wasn't much for sets. Let's Go Crazy reloaded break Plectrum Electrum and Play That Funky Music. Now Josh played some potentially new songs on his laptop prior to Prince performing. The only song I recognized was the Rita Ora song..
As I was leaving I did notice the entire stage crew in the back (could be practice for a to.ur...who knows). Overall enjoyable night with a younger and different crowd. The young folks seemed to be impressed with Paisley and its magic.

FKA Twigs performed in the L4OA room. After her set was over, they opened the doors to the soundstage room. Joshua was on stage an played Xcess Space, Revelation, the Rito Ora song, and a new remake of If I Could Get Your Attention (Taja Sevelle) with Prince on vocals. Prince took the stage and did Let's Go Crazy Reloaded. He came back about 1/2 hour later and it seemed like they were waiting on FKA Twigs to do Water Me. I watched the minions go and get her, but Prince went with PLECTRUMELECTRUM instead, followed by Play That Funky Music. He left the stage again and came back about an hour later. He played Kiss, Hot Thing, and Sign O The Times and FKA Twigs was dancing center stage. Prince was on keys. When Doves Cry was awesome, he took Ida's bass and tore that shit up! Then FUNKNROLL and Housequake.

sounds like you left too early, there seemed to be another set. Only the usual stuff though. Good to hear there is some new material already done. Hopefully someone will be able to describe them in more detail.

If you can remember, how did the songs sound in full? The snippets sounded great! And was it a 3rdeyegirl version of 'If I Could Get Your Attention'?

It's obvious that these songs are always part of "Prince Karaoke." He probably shouted "Real Music By Real Musicians" while he played the tape of the songs. He sometimes plays keys or has the band play over the backing tapes...but backing tapes are backing tapes. He doesn't play those songs "live" anymore.

Eye love his " prince Karaoke" segments! Eye live 4 them!! He often plays the rarely heard instrumental tracks & plays his unmatched keyboard strokes with them. This show he brought out the bass with it. That is AMAZING!!!

I really like the new songs, especially Revelation. It's so smooth! We've all heard the snippets of most of what was played last night, but if you like those then you'll love the full songs too. If I Could Get Your Attention was such a "huh" moment. I love Taja's music, so I instantly new what the song was. The music was totally different though. It sounded more like a Prince and Joshua song, rather than 3RDEYEGIRL. I tweeted Joshua asking if that was what I heard, I was questioning myself, because it was such a out of the blue song. He favorited my tweet, but didn't answer.

The dj was playing a bunch of the tracks off the new albums and some remixes. Specifically BOYTROUBLE.

As far as the live portion, I'm normally turned off by the sampler sets, but he was going off on the keys for Hot Thing and Housequake, and the bass on When Doves Cry. They were playing live over backing tracks, though for that set.

They were selling new shirts. The black one with sheer sleeves and pleather-like front and back with the original 3RDEYEGIRL art, like what's on Hannah's drum kit.

FKA Twigs was awesome. I had never heard any of her music, before Friday. She was quite mesmerizing, in a freaky sort of way. I'd definitely pay to see her again.

Thanks! Any more details on the songs played over PA? Like, what are the second parts of Revelatn and Ex's Face like, apart from the bits from the Yahoo special? Any more details on If I Could Get Your Attention, like is there any instrumentation, etc?

You're not the only one. Lots of fans love the lazy Karaoke segment. Usually casual fans who could care less if it is live or memorex love it. Since I'm a songwriter, and an awful musician, I can at least figure out that it's not true live music, and when he complains about other artists not playing live, it makes him look silly. Me being a songwriter makes me no smarter than anyone else, but if you have any true knowledge of what a musician is, his lazy Karaoke thing is sad.

Would Miles Davis do this? Would James Brown? Would Elton John? Would Stevie Wonder? No. A serious musician would never do this. The fact that Prince is a serious musician faking his way through a portion of a live performance is about as mind-numbing and confuisng as allowing that hack Tony M in the band...but casual fans don't know and don't care

And you know what...that's fine. There are people that love Justin Beiber and think of him as something special. I'm not willing to go down that road.
