So is there a show both on Friday and Saturday or is it Friday night/Saturday morning?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Also, how has the car shuttle worked for past events? Is it near paisley park? Anyone have an address for it? What time have people typicaly started lining up for previous weeks events? I'll be driving from Milwaukee so I'm just trying to get my facts right for the drive up! I'd hate to get there and have it be sold out.
So excited! I haven't seen prince since 2004! [Edited 4/1/14 21:08pm]

There are no garantee you will actually see Prince at these parties or that there will be a show... I went to all 3 and at the first 2, march 22nd and 28th, Prince was no show nor did he play.. There was djs and other bands playing though...Just my two cents if u drive up do it without expectations!

Can someone tell me if there are two events or just one? Is there one on both Friday and Saturday night or is it just Friday night/Saturday early morning?

hi musicology. i can't speak to the shuttle service, but last week there were two parties, one on Friday night from 9:00 pm -2:00 am and one on Saturday night from 9:00 pm -2:00 am. i think there will be two parties this week as well, Friday April 4th and Saturday April 5th. sounds like fun eh?

it looks like Friday and Saturday nites, also usually I just drive up to PP lot around 9-930pm and have been able to park there for $10, if it's full they will direct you to where to park and catch the shuttle which in the past has been Lifetime Fitness about a mile away..
Lastly there was only perhaps 500-700 people last saturday so unless a lot more people decide to go you should be ok to get in, doesn't PP have a capacity over at least 1000?

awwwww crap. headlines from Minneapolis/St. Paul online news source this morning:
http://kstp.com/news/stories/S3384330.shtml?cat=1 Spring Snowstorm Could Be a Record Breaker
Updated: 04/03/2014 6:19 AM Get ready for more plowing and shoveling in Minnesota and Wisconsin. A snowstorm of record-breaking proportions is predicted to mess up the Friday morning commute in the Twin Cities. Morning Chief Meteorologist Ken Barlow says a light mix of rain and snow will slowly change over to all snow Thursday evening, and the snow will continue heavy at times during the night. More heavy snow is in the forecast for Friday, so Ken says we can expect poor travel conditions all over the area. Ken says we will see accumulations of 5-10 inches within most areas to the north and northwest of the Twin Cities, with a few 12-inch amounts likely. Just south and southeast of the Twin Cities, slightly lower amounts are expected -- perhaps up to 4 inches. The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Thursday and Friday for much of Minnesota, including the Twin Cities and northern Wisconsin. Wind gusts of 40 mph late Thursday night could make travel difficult in open areas. Despite the storm this week, the weekend looks quiet with sunshine expected to return along with temperatures in the 40s. Track the latest weather conditions at KSTP.com/weather, and send your snow photos to pics@kstp.com.

Ex-Moderator | 7.3 inches in downtown Minneapolis so far and it's still coming down. It's supposed to let up by about 1... There have been delays at the airport already. I'D wait and travel tomorrow personally, but I likely won't even go this weekend, so it's not much of a priority for me. |

wow, this is crazy short notice. I imagine turnout will be pretty low for both of these events. I'd love to go to both but the driving is going to be bad and I'm not sure if my friends want to go again after we dropped $30 each last Friday to not see him, only to hear that he played to an even smaller crowd the next night. I'm busy tonight, but maybe tomorrow... it's a shame there are no phones allowed in there, or else I could just text a friend who's there to ask what the gear setup on stage is!

Ex-Moderator | Now reporting 10.5 inches of snow in Mpls, 8.8 in Chanhassen. |

so let's speculate - what do you think the reasoning was for playing Saturday but not Friday last week? Do you think it was spontaneous, or do you think he had intended to do it that way, with Friday kind of being like an "opener" and Saturday being the real deal? Maybe he did it just to be unpredictable after word got out of Friday's low-key event, inevitably leading to lower attendance on Saturday, kind of like a reward for the dedicated? These are the kinds of things we wondered about as we sat there Sunday morning realizing we came so close but missed him. Apparently last weekend he said something like "Paisley Park every weekend for eternity!"
