Hit and run....fatigue

I have queued for over 15 hours for 2 concerts now: 1st show at Electric ballroom and 2nd show at Koko. My heart is willing to queue again and again because seeing Prince live is my drug, my buzz and for me the ultimate experience.

Both experiences have been amazing but both have left me exhausted.

I'm sorry to say I just don't think I can do it anymore sad

so, what is the answer 2 the question of U

This sort of comment really pisses me off and is the reason I don't comment much on this site.

I never said it was an amazing piece of information, just voicing my opinion.

So use one of the existing threads, it's bad enough having to trawl through the rubbish on here without more of it.

I'm sure it will be worth it! If you're there already you're pretty sure to get into what will surely be something very special. cool

ETA: I don't mean that actually dying would be worth it - that would be bad. Just the line thing. smile

Queueing for 2 EB, The SBE and Kingsley-no sweat. But the KoKo...up at around 5am, we got there at 7am, got home after 3am. Right now feel like I've been ran over by a Lorry!

You gotta love you moaning Londoners !

Imagine if you lived 150 miles away and couldnt make any of the gigs !!!!

400,000 people seen Prince in 2007, on this tour 4,000

Hit & Run concerts poor for most fans

I too am pooped wink

Both EB shows and last nights second, plus the 100mile + trip home. Put a fork in me.

I'd love to see some more shows, but will wait for bigger ticketed stuff if it materialises. I actually think I knackered my left ear drum last night. The middle section was NUTS loud and distorted..

Feeling strangely wired today though!

cool

I could keep going, but the hit and run shows may have had an influence on my 8 year old son.

.

Do you think he could be after my attention?

.

Instead of being in the queue for Prince and 3rd Eye Girl at Ronnie Scott's tonight, I'm in the queue for my own spare room where Carter & The Furettes (his all girl backing band - Aka Teddies) are warming up, ready to do a hit and run exclusive gig.
.
Apparently, its first come first served, and he won't reveal the gig cost or show time.

.

I have a number in the queue. I'm number 2 (of 2). His twin brother is in the queue in front of me. He has warned me not to push in.

.

All too familiar.
.
Prince has a lot to answer for.

Yep I'm with you on ears and being knackered...got up at 4am, there by 7. Great Q, slightly disappointing gig (mainly the sense he was pushing through a boredom barrier, fucked eardrums because it was so loud and distorted) so everything is ringing and muffled, home by 2am, glad I've got it out if the way and wouldn't do it again even if you gave ME £70 for 90 minutes

Security is no where to be seen and Max, my boy at the front of the queue, has dispatched me to get refreshments. We can hear Carter and the Furettes doing a sound check behind the spare room door. We are still not allowed in.

.

I shouted through the door to ask how many shows there will be and he said. One...no two....no one.

.

This is far too realistic.

The big question is..can I book tickets online or is it cash at the door..how much £10 or £70?

I thought it was great, his brother thought it was a rip off.

He came back for a late encore. With his piano, we got a bit of Axel F (the only "modern" thing he knows) followed by "My Name is Carter".

.

He finished with guitar in one hand, arm raised shouting "I love U Cambridge, good night!"

.

Its scary that he has picked this stuff up!!!!!!

Ive done it on both Sundays now (1pm to 7pm and 9am to 6pm) and I must admit, I'm done, and will be rather pleased when all this has ended and the temptation of a 3rd fix is no longer a possibility. I wont be giving up a day out of my holiday allowance to hear pretty much the same setlists time and again, just trying out different sized venues.

You're not alone! My brother did the first two EB gigs and queued from 12.30 in the afternoon on that day. Yesterday, he joined the Koko queue at 9.30 a.m. and did both gigs last night. Here's what he posted on Facebook today when I asked him if he was going to try for Ronnie Scott's tonight: "No, that's me done for now. My body hurts to the point I feel I have done a marathon aerobics session, the balls of my feet hurt like I have marched/stomped up to Manchester on foot, and my stomach muscles are soooo sore from when I was thrusting against the handrail of the balcony last night with such enthusiasm I feel like I've been used as a boxing bag." LOL!

My ears are still shot. I jam for many hours with a band every weekend with me on drums, drumming electric and acoustic and I'm a pretty hard hitter, we're all extremely loud! I've had shot ears before but they've never last this long.
Doubt I'll go to anymore shows now, although fantastic they've been. Although if Brixton is just one show, maybe.

I feel you. I threw in the towel for these types of shows about 5 years ago. I only go to the seated shows now for any artist. When I was younger I loved these but definately too old now. I graciously pass these shows to others now.
