Saw first show after queueing since 11.30am. Awesome show, but just wanted to say thank you and hello to the lovely people I met in the queue. Marion, Ronnie, son Callum, Harry, Sabrina, Clare, Finnish guy, Andy, the guy I met on Friday, and Maggie who I met on Friday. Hope you all had a brilliant night.

And, the whole point of this message, f*** you to the woman at the back of the stalls who ruined my night and many other people's by being such a f***ing b*tch. Sorry, I had to get that off my chest. I know that if anyone reads this and experienced it they will understand. Peace and love x

Sorry for the negativity but am going to post anyway

Whoah, what did she do??

basically loads of pushing and growling, she had a purple lead coming out of her earpiece and a note book, i wasn't sure for ages whether she worked at the venue or something but i don't think she did. she had a go at me for putting my arms in the air at the beginning and then pushed another girl really roughly loads of times. she didn't seem to be enjoying herself much though

Definitely good value for money and got a sense of what it was like there. I heard a bit of 1999 and full u got the look for the grand total of nothing so can't complain... On twitter people were saying 3rd show free so I leaped out of bed to join the purple chaos... Seemed quite rowdy in there tonight. Not as calm an atmos as SBE

Hits?! Prince might not swear anymore but i do. My opinion is fuck them. Basically.

Casuals need to read reviews before laying down their money. Morons.

If it keeps a few of them away from Manchester, all the better for real fans who know most of his stuff.

[Edited 2/16/14 15:33pm]

I agree. In fact, I admire any artist that still pushes their new music. To be fair to Prince, there were more old than new. But not the obvious tracks. Shall we start the twitter rumour now that Prince will play just The News album in its entirely at manchester. The casual doves can stay at home. lol

A 'News', 'Cnote', 'Slaughterhouse' and 'Xpectation' showcase for Manchester. That's what i hear.

lol

Saw both shows. Great obviously. However, it just can't be right that the people Qing from 7am get a shorter show than the ones joining the Q at 4pm. The 2nd set was much longer and the third set was cancelled, screwing those that were promised a show at 1am. Can't to be too hard to avoid that surely? Make the 1st set longer. And the third set people were given one song?? Sorry thats BS. Anyway, I loved it and felt priveledged to have seen both. Well, I was Qing for over 10 hours!

Thanks Prince. You were great tonight.

Due some unforseen issues, I didnt get there in time for the second show so pinned my hopes on a third and made my way there. Got to KOKO at 12.40 and there was no queue... so I ran to the door and asked if there was a third show? To which I was told "dunno, go in mate, its free" by staff. Dashed into KOKO without having to pay(!) and just caught the end of U Got The Look. Then show over. Amazing value!! biggrin

Everyone was so happy inside and on the way out - the second extended show sounded superb. Glad to have even saw 90 seconds of it cool

Went to Both shows, were incredible for sure!!!

Loved the reniditon of "She's Always In My Hair", hearing the sampler set en masse and getting an extened 2nd show due to the cancelled 3rd!

What really got me was the camaraderie with everyone in the queues, it was like two elongated parties unto themselves!

Motivated me to bring my car round and Blare the "Purple Medley" to those waiting in the 1st show, haha.

Good times!

Setlist from Koko Show 1 http://www.setlist.fm/set...576be.html (I didn't write it but I made a couple of edits).

Another wonderful show, and the whole experience of queuing outside wasn't so bad. Nice weather for February, and everyone was in good spirits. Met some lovely people. Enjoyment only slightly spoiled by some rude aggressive tosser of a photographer with a massive professional camera who clearly didn't have permission to take photos but was click-click-clicking away on the balcony with a zoom lens, the noise disrupting the quiet bits of "Purple Rain". But that's nothing compared to the red-faced idiot with the elbows at the Electric Ballroom, so I can't complain too much.

Admittedly a bit annoyed that after queuing for 9 hours I saw a shorter set but it was excellent with no overly long jams. Totally happy to pay £70 for that. Nice to hear the new stuff played live rather than the same old hits and SO BLOODY LOUD.

Wasn't sure what P was doing most of the time as I couldn't take my eyes off Hannah the whole gig.

Yeah, I suppose it's an ongoing irony of these gigs that the people who turn up late on the off-chance of getting in are the ones who often see the better/longer show, whereas the devoted fans who've been queuing all day get the truncated version...

Hah, it occurred do me yesterday that the luckiest person in London was the person with 1411 felt-tipped onto their hand. Didn't have to get there stupidly early, but guaranteed spot at the barrier for Show 2.

So I queued for a lifetime... well got there at 4. Expected to be in first show and told it was full which I didn't care about as I wanted to be in second.. not sure why! Anyway fab show ruined by two women and I'm being polite. One to my right whit pushed and squashed me and one to the left who elbowed me so much I actually cried got anxiety and couldn't breathe. Had to walk off... resulted in losing my spot and seeing nothing for the second half. Soooo annoyed and hope these women get what they deserve. Top balcony full of celebs... callum best grimshaw Holly Willoughby to name a few. Idiots hardly knew any songs and bet they didn't queue lol lol lol.

It's the second time that being in the second show appears to pay dividends - I got the benefit of it last night but was in the first at Electric Ballroom - no complaints though.

From judging where I was in the queue after arriving at 19:15 and how many people were behind me (we were told we were number 900-ish of say 1300 paid entries) I do wonder how people saw both shows without pushing in... care to eleborate?

That is unfair to those waiting for hours outside. I was number 1281 and didn't make it into the first one. In hindsight am grateful but my mind did boggle when capacity was 1400.

Pretty much the same thing happened to me. All those tweets about the 3rd show going all night starting at 1am... I heard "how come u don't call me" and maybe a sampler snippet of 1999 from outside then "U got the Look" with some saxophone. I don't regret going, technically we saw prince at KOKO for free, whoop!

Even though capacity was 1400, guest list / blaggers reduced that, and Q jumpers made the situation worse

There was a girl that queued with me from around 9.30 who left as Purple Rain started in the 1st show to go out and join the queue for the second set. No idea if she managed to get in or not.

Out little group talked about 'going for the double' during the day once we heard he was doing more than 1 but I was just too tired after standing for so long. If it had been £10 maybe I would have.

If other folk managed it, good luck to them. They certainly put the hours in.

I guess I've had my fix now I've finally got to see him. if he ends up doing a bigger ticketed gig in London then I'll try for that but no more queueing I think.

I think the q jumpers were right at the front...certainly a lot of hanging over the barriers going on and the numbers in front of me when I'd been there since 7am ish seemed to swell slightly just before going in...number 61 seemed a bit confused, maybe he thought it was a 19.

Something really changed for me last night...a guy in the Q was saying how he went to the Gold Tour and realised half way through that he didn't feel the same; maybe it was the £70 after longer shows were cheaper (same cost as an intimate acoustic gig...come on!!), maybe it was the near 12 hour wait...who know but I left thinking he was just going through the motions as quickly as possible but it felt like 'done...next 'kerching'...next'

Some of that capacity is used for vip guestlist, so we can't expect 1,400 public peeps to be getting in. Sucha a bummer after queueing for so long though, you must have been so close to the front of the queue after that. But like you say though, it turned out ok in the end getting to see the 2nd show.
