He didn't play. NPG played. Doug E. Fresh MCd and Liv did a full set to start it off. They refunded everyone's. money. People were pissed. Stage was all set up for him to play. People were there from after the concert to 4:30am and then He never played he showed up by the DJ. He did sing a new song 2014 or something over a prerecorded track. Was a great party but not for $150.00. For $150.00
It is supposed to be an after show. The tickets did say after party but my VIP ticket said after show.

Got an email from
Ticketmaster this morning saying he show was canceled and money will be refunded.

People were very upset, when everyone was told the show was over and it is time to leave, most folks thought it was a joke. When folks finally realized that Prince was not going to perform for real, with no explanation whotsoever mind you, folks got billigerant. Between the people swearing, and a few even crying, it was quite a scene. Many shell shocked looks on folks faces.

Don't get me wrong, Liv Warfield was great, Shelby J was great, but nobody there came to see those folks, they came to see Prince perform, each song they finished was just one step closer to Prince gracing the stage in folks minds. For him to just pack up and not even say a few words to his devoted fans or give any type of explanation was very disrespectful, and unprofessional, imo. Even the Mohegan staff was confused to all hell.

Hopefully in the future Prince will treat those who support him with more respect. Sure he is loaded, and has nothing to lose in doing so I suppose (except for that karma thing), but slighting the hands that feed you is just counterintuitive, regardless if you can buy every kit kat in the world 2 million times over.

First night at the Chicago House of Blues all over again.

wow, I just read about an article on that and it sounds so similar. Unfortunately no Prince at the end at Mohegan to tell the crowd why he didn't play or a statement.

And to agree with Leadline, we did get solid performances. But without any word from Prince other than his new track and him hiding in the back, it was a disappointment in the end.

It was an AFTER PARTY. Sure, I would've loved it had Prince played, but be that as it may, he didn't, and I was fine with that. I had a blast and didn't want or expect a refund. I drank all that Diet Coke for free . . . I've been to several Prince AFTER PARTIES, and at only one did he play--ONA in Indy.

Special thanks to the very rude people up front who refused to move so three of us could sit down! Becuase of this, we got a table right in front of Prince, Doug E Fresh, Janelle, and the rest. . .

He had every intent to play, Mohegan verified this as did his guitar pedals that were brought out at the beginning of the show. There also would not have been a refund if this was to be simply doug e fresh bustin everyone's ear drums in the place with songs that have no right to have that much bass. Lets Here It For The Boy? Shakin dust off the ceiling and makin folks socks come off?? Come on! For sure that has the be a sign of the apocolypse.

Also, Prince had his band say they were being shut down about 2 songs in after the NPG took the stage. This was a lie, I called Mohegan, they told me he could have absolutely taken the stage if he wanted to, and was expected to.

At the end of the day, all is good though, being a Prince fan is indeed an exercise in masochism at times, but hopefully folks, including myslef, will have better luck at a different afterparty/show, there are sure to be plenty more.

peace
