quite a little money maker this tour - with rough estimations

34 shows (being conservative with amounts) so lets say on average

750 tickets for each show sold at

$250 full price

$ 6,375,00 and with only 3 band members to pay instead of 20

not bad for a month's work

You left off a zero didn't u? 34x750x250 = $6,375,000 Million

A lot of money yes. The crowds should be thin, it's MPLS and Memorial day on top, and Myth is in freaking Maplewood on top of that.

The cool thing about seeing Prince in Minneapolis is that EVERYONE has a story. You went to school with him, your dentist cleans his teeth, he stole your old girlfriend, or you dated him.

That being said. I spent a TON (craigslist) of money to see him at the Dakota. Maybe the best concert I ever saw.

Back in the day, he would let us into Paisley sometimes for free, sometimes $7, expensive nights were $20. So I guess it all comes out in the wash. He really hasn't played a concert in MPLS excluding the Dakota since a $40 AWESOME concert at Paisly in Oct. 2008. I guess $300 bucks to watch a rock legend in his hometown on a small stage playing with energy like it was 1995 but with less attitude is what............Priceless.

And to quote Prince "the cold keeps the bad people out" maybe high ticket prices will bring the truely interested out.

Why is it that when Prince talks about getting paid everyone rolls their eyes but then the fans constantly speculate on what he's making off of every venture?

Any word from locals on how this show is selling? Any Billboard Awards bump in promotions/buzz?

So approx 750 seats @ $250 would be approx $187500 for a months work, minus overheads like salaries and travel expenses

Love the poster for the concert on Hannah's Facebook page!

I don't believe it's selling well. I saw an electronic billboard advertising it last weekend (I've never seen a billboard advertising a Prince show here before) and there are multiple tickets giveaways on multiple radio stations happening.

I'm still waiting for a discounted ticket. I'm hoping to score one froma scalper who can't get rid of it.

I'm still salty about that crummy show I paid a gazillion dollars for in Chicago. I'll pass on this one.

Same here, saw a ticket for $150 on eBay but too late, auction had ended!
Pretty sure prices will go down the closer we get but it's a bit nerve-wraking not to know if I'll make the show or not :p

Looks like they've introduced tiered pricing. Those $289 tickets were probably moving too slow.

While I appreciate what they're trying to do, this doesn't sound all that appealing either. Without being super familiar w/the exact layout, I'm wondering just how they plan to separate people into these viewing tiers. The Myth isn't known for their customer service or security staff being the best. This could work, I suppose, but it sounds a bit like it could turn into a clusterf*&^.

Maybe I'll skip this one altogether.

Was this there on the website before? Looks like free drinks & express entry for $259 ticket holders & no cell phones at all in the venue?

$259 Ticket includes express entry, main floor and preferred viewing and all you can drink cocktails and beer and non-alcoholic drinks, excludes champagne and Louis XIII.

ABSOLUTELY NO CAMERAS OR CELL PHONES WILL BE PERMITTED INTO THE VENUE. NO EXCEPTIONS. PURPLE PRODUCTIONS OR ETIX WILL SHOW ON YOUR CREDIT CARD STATEMENT. PLEASE REALIZE THAT MYTH RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE YOUR TICKET DELIVERY METHOD TO WILL CALL IF DEEMED NECESSARY.

Nope that is new. Looks like they are doing their best to add incentive to the $289 tickets (their $30 handling fee is outrageous).

I want to go so badly. But I hate The Myth. And this tiered ticket system, like Carrie said, could end up being one big mess.

I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Bobby with Prince.

But even the $99 ticket option (for two tickets, me and my husband) isn't doable for me right now. Damn.

Brown Mark just posted on his facebook page & tweeted a picture with a caption that reads "Members [plural] will be joining Prince on Saturday for Purple Rain."

https://www.facebook.com/...7106416796

And in the comments section someone reports that Dr. Fink & BrownMark were at soundcheck. Hmmm. Prince really needs to fly in Wendy & Lisa and call it a wrap smile
