Dangit I almost wish I'd waited and went to see him in Minneapolis.

ALMOST

If you read the comments, looks like I'm not the only one thinking the ticket price, $259, is too rich for my blood.

I'm firmly planted in denial

Wish I could go but I couldn't afford one ticket, let alone two for my husband and myself.

Yeah, not paying it. If prices drop I'll go but $259 is ridiculous. And I hate the Myth. Bleh.

Ticket$ for this show are comparable to the other shows. I don't get why people are so surprised.
Besides, In his home town in a relatively small venue..Gonna be the best shows of the tour.
It would be nice for Prince to open Paisley Park and charge 150.00 with no service charges. It would give die hards and casuals who have never been to PP to see where all the magic happens.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

The Dakota was a small venue and a seated show so you knew what you were getting. Even there I wasn't willing to pay $250, I opted for the $150 show and was very happy.

The Myth has a capacity of 3000+. I can't imagine spending $259 and ending up with tall people in front of you or squished into a bad spot or whathaveyou. Not worth it to me at all.

I've never actually been there myself, so honestly I don't know, but I've heard from others that Myth is a real scumhole. Seems like a lot of shooting have happened there.

Anybody know if it is all general admission, or do they have balcony seating? I see some other shows there have balcony seating.

It's all general admission but there is a balcony. You can be one of those folks that sits in line all day to get a spot up front or on a rail. I believe there are couches and the like but once the show starts I'm sure they're useless for sightlines.

A brief statement from Myth Live re: the ticket prices for the PRINCE shows;

- We're a small room. The chance to see PRINCE in his hometown in this intimate of setting is very rare.

- The ticket prices for his entire intimate, west coast club tour (consisting of 28 shows) were priced the same, most selling out.

- In arena settings, tickets for the floor area with a similar capacity as Myth would be equal to, or more than our ticket prices.

- Per his current tour reviews and set lists, audiences are getting a full and complete show with both new and old material.

We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to see you at the show!!

I'm going to have to have a credit card on standby if he brings this to the east coast. I'm not missing one of these if he's near NYC!
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Basically what I said...see above...

GRrrrrr....this is a toughy. MN is just a quick flight away from Chicago but last minute air/hotel/car plus the crazy ticket prices would force me to come up with an extra grand in 2 weeks. Do we really know for sure that these are the final LOL dates?

Got my ticket for the late show. 289.00 with fees. OUCH! Nearing the 100 mark count for Prince shows I've seen.

^ see you there! got mine and yeah, no way to avoid the $30 "handling fee"

if you go to the myth link and click on the buiy tix banner it just takes you to etix.com, which charges the fee. i guess if you show up at the box office in person you avoid the handling fee

still glad i'm going though....cool

Probably extra money for Myth. They probably figure if you'll pay $259 then you'll pay $289. But that price is ridiculous. I may go, but I hope one show gets cancelled so we'll get a longer show. And i bet thats exactly what will happen.

Say wha...??! I love seeing him live...but $259 + $30 in fees is beyond reasonable. Got a family of five and $300 gets me a lot more than one concert. I checked my tickets when Lenny Kravitz played the Myth in 2008(great show btw): $48. C'mon P, $289??

Why not just play the big room at PP? I personally don't think he will sell enough tickets at $289 to fill it even one time much less two. It's a huge room.

Before it was a club it was a shoe store smile) A gigantic ass shoe store but a shoe store. It had great sound when it opened but it closed for a long time and then reopened to less than steller reviews. You have to park at Kohls which always makes me laugh.

In response to the Myth calling themselves a "small room". The place holds up to 3,000 people which is nowhere near small.

For every fan who wished for a small club tour instead of the big arena hits parade here's your wish come true. Did you think Prince was going to play small clubs and charge 30 bucks a pop like some indie band you discovered in college? He's still Prince and he's not going to start doing low budget gigs where he's taking a financial loss. From what I've read about this tour there's no merchandise for sale(at least nobody has mentioned any to a noteable degree) so the only way he's going to make any money off these shows is by charging a high ticket price for them. Also he's doing two shows a night so the chance of aftershows are slim to none(no extra income for him there).

On a side note - If you're going to fly around the country chasing Prince from gig to gig then maybe you ought to exclusively use one airline (to rack up airmiles and earn free trips) and one hotel chain (to rack up points and free nights or reduced costs). Y'all obviously are doing something wrong booking your travel plans if you're constantly paying for everything everytime you travel. When I was pondering going to Montreux(from NYC) for the Jazz Festival I found out my airlmiles knocked the cost of the flight down to 70 dollars.

When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!
