I just want to know which orifice they pulled these tickets out of!!!! These shows supposedly were sold-out long ago!

It's interesting huh?! I was browsing their site when I saw the option, couldn't believe it at first but it really worked! I think the $100.- tickets were only available 4 purchase online, who knows what happened...DNA Lounge never posted about price reduction themselves

The only ones lieft are insane thousand dollar digit VIP tickets...damn! I wish I could have scored one of the shows tonight. It's going to kill me missing Prince in the bay area, I've seen him here four different times, but only once in a small venue. I don't suppose anyone has an extra ticket?

I'm on way out to the city for the second show tonight

and I was hoping that someone from last nights shows could give me some good advice on how they are handling the line situation and what is my best option for a good spot in the venue?

I am only 5 ft tall

i don't want to get stuck behind a bunch of tall peeps

so what's up?

Please do tell?

anything? anything?

For those going to the shows, have an amazing night. Wish I could be there to share the love. music
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

They were gone in heartbeat...like in Van. Seattle and Portland...these late releases are fund raiser for charity.

Once long ago it was called the Purple Circle at Cow Palace smile seemed like a million dollars at the time for 3rd row dead center Purple Rain...lordy what a run that was!

Just back from the late show. Wow. Here are some quick thoughts and set list:

The show lasted about 2hrs. The first part of the show was epic. Prince in full rock mode was unbelievable! So fun to watch him bounce around the stage, guitar in hand almost the entire time. His fro was ON POINT - sequined headband around it to go full-on, fabulous Hendrix.

The 2nd part of the show was just ok for me. I really have mixed emotions about the sampler set. One hand, the sampler set plays MUCH better in a club than the arena shows. Night and day difference! And we got almost full versions of some songs like Hot Thing & Housequake, which is rare and such a treat. On the other hand, it's Prince at a sampler while the rest of the real musicians don't do a whole lot. Sorta feels like a waste of all their talents.

All in all, great show.

Venue was insanely crowded and impossible to move anywhere. The crowd almost ruined it for me. Lousy lousy crowd, at least where I was standing in the back, by the bar. It felt like the majority were there just to be there - be seen and say they were there. In my area I was surrounded by conversations, but it was too damn crowded for me to escape and find a new spot. SF folks, you'll understand this: felt like most of the Marina was in the house. Nuff said. Hope the rest of you that attended had better crowd experience.

More thoughts tomorrow after some sleep.

Set list: (feel free to fill in and/or correct)

Let's Go Crazy reloaded (amazing!)

Let's Work

U Got the Look

Endorphinemachine

Screwdriver (shortened version - started w/the 2nd verse)

She's Always in My Hair

Forever in my Life (Prince on bass...un-fucking-believable)

Purple Rain (Prince on keys/piano, no guitar)

Adore (really long, stretched out version)

ICNTTPOYM

Guitar

Plectrum Electrum

Fixurlifeup

I Like it There

Bambi

Encore 1 - Sampler Set

SOTT

Hot Thing

Nasty Girl (snip)

When Doves Cry

I Would Die 4 U

Single Ladies (Beyonce, snip)

Housequake (long and fantastic)

Love Bizarre

Pop Life

Alphabet Street (snip)

TBGITW (snip)

Race? Pheremone? (instrumental track, sounded like one of these)

Extraloveable (new version, snip)

Mr Goodnight

Encore 1.5 (didn't leave the stage, so no credit for a full encore, ha)

Boomstratus

Sorry, looks like the post didn't save my formatting.

Was it really that cool?

I realize I may be blasted for this but really?$250 to not be able to see or to be packed in in an unbearable manner? Maybe I'm a little too R&B for this experience, but overall not worth it and really not impressed. I have been to several Prince club shows through the years and paid much less. Never felt so unimpressed as I did tonight. Bought four tix total, two for early show two for late show. If I didn't have tix for late show, would have left at 9pm. My early show date took off about 45 mins into set b/c of too much pushing. 20 mins later I was in restaurant trying to figure out how to get a refund.

Turning in my fan card. Done.

There were two incidents next to us in the early show (too tight and unfriendly crowd)

Second show much more interesting crowd and great set list, but still couldn't see and wasn't worth it--back to restaurant to listen and relax. Venue reps kept saying it was all Prince's rules. I don't know how it worked on the back end. I just know I won't go again. It's been a long road...too bad it had to end like this.

Totally disagree about the crowd atleast on the main part of the floor. Maybe you guys just had one of those nights. But coming from seeing a lot of shows and a lot of different musical styles it was very cool. The crowd was rowdy some but with energy. Being packed in and dancing, coming into contact with each other and being cool about it, thats just what type of show it was. If everyone was holding up the walls or trying not to touch each other it wouldnt be a rock concert. which it for the most part was.

Agree the show had epic moments and though I dreaded the sampler set again it played perfect in the small venue and was positioned just right in the line up.

I wish we all were nude. I wish there was no black or white I wish there were no rules.

man....sorry, but I wholeheatedly disagree. That was one of the best shows I have EVAH seen. I've seen more Prince shows than I can remember, but what I do remember about al of them is that I have never dances so hard as I did tonite. Just got home and I'm still like, what in the mother fucking hell did this nigga just do to me. If all I heard tonight was "Forever In My Life" that would have been worth the 250 in and of itself. But that on top of everything else? Prince and his girls jammed. The only thing I didn't like was Hannah's husband/boyfriend, whatever. He played cowbells at one point behind the drums, and my immediate thought was damn dude, how you gonna look llike you just fell out of a revenge of the nerds sequel hitting the cowbell? NO rhytym. Beyond that, the BEST in your face jam session I have evah seen.

People, if you are on the fence about these shows, just go. Seriously.

..yeah cuz the Marina crowd is all who could afford to go to the show! I'm hella mad! I saw him at the Oracle Arena and paid a lot of money (good show) but would TOTALLY have rather seen this show....but I'm short and it sounds like it was packed in there..great set list; how was the new music? I love that Prince is doing these small venue shows and connecting with the audience. ..for the love of music! Prince is a Master.

wow... definitely one of the best shows ever again...

the first night for me has a slight edge.. maybe bc it was the first night... but it was EPIC!

what.. how in HELL could anyone not like that show!!!!!!!! if you go to see prince in a tiny club.. just expect it to be crowded!!!!!!!!!! otherwise get the aladdin dvd! but you gotta relax some rules and deal with some annoyances if you are gonna go to a club..

its like saying im gonna go to the opera so it really sux that i cant get up and dance!

its just not the way it is!

small club = tight crowds and if you dont get there really early, you arent gonna get a great view.

1+1+1 = 3

poor prince, he just cant win sometimes!

he gives us an incredible show!

tons of guitar, tons of piano.... deep cuts,, big hits, and still complaints!

forget it... it was INCREDIBLE and he is BETTER THAN EVER!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly! Nothing is going to go perfectly in a small club environment & from years of me dealing with rude annoying prince fans @ his shows since way b 4 the internet, that have threatened 2 beat me down @ times. when his fans would cut straight in front of peeps in line. It is way more organized now then it use 2 b.

eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

I went with three people. We befriended those around us in line and all stood close so it was a polite little clump, lots of "can you see??" A few drunks staggered into our midst but security was excellent as we were right near the stage where the man himself enters and exits. (Pne of our friends was more toward the bar and encoutered a snarky crowd. She had less fun.) Lots of people had pizza-breath, a minus. But for what we got to see.....
I was blown away by this show, even more than by the night before. I went to both late shows. Adore? Bambi? So good.
Prince is right to pay attention to those who are seeing him for the first time. I would never rag on someone for being a first-timer. We all once were thus.
So yes, no complaining about being hot and squeezed. Worth every second. This was one of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences. This particular concert was distinctive.

Can we talk?

Yes folks in line were crazy in love 4 some Prince 4 the first time.

One girl said, " I can't wait till he plays "Purple Rain"

anyway, I got stories, just wait till later

we get in there, (he plays the living spandex off his pants) ....and he sits down and plays purple rain. "in the back of my head. I'm like "well she just made a fool outta me" and we were waving our hands all in purple rain style from side to side (you know )

and it was just Beautiful.......just beautiful

....more to come......

OMG............I love u prince....I love you Prince 4 ever

I'm still on the purple high

what song shall i play now

you haters, when he does his lil mix (all his own) set, you just wish that was you......

my Baby....My Prince I love u

They knew the words to all the songs, even the new ones. They wanted to hear Purple Rain. It is not my favourite but seeing how happy they were to hear it, well, most weddings lack such anthusiasm, I have to say that Prince is right to pay attention to those who are seeing him for the first time.
