Chicago, IL—Andy Allo, funk/soul artist extraordinaire, has been announced to perform live at Prince’s after-jam at Chicago’s House of Blues on September 24, following a special performance by Prince himself, at his “Welcome 2 Chicago” engagement. The “Welcome 2” event will be held at the United Center earlier that evening, in support of the Rebuild the Dream foundation, founded by Van Jones, whose mission is to mobilize thousands of everyday people who come together to build strong vibrant communities, and to fix the U.S. economy from the ground up.

Allo, who opens for Prince on-tour and is a guitarist/vocalist in his band, The New Power Generation, will be releasing her sophomore CD on Prince’s NPG Records on September 20 titled “Superconductor.” The album is Executive Produced by Prince, and features six self-penned tracks by Allo, with three songs co-written by Prince – “Superconductor,” “The Calm” and “Gone.”

As soon as we felt Andy Allo’s energetic presence on tour with r band,” says Prince, “we knew she’d b leading her own revolution soon!”

Adds Allo, “Touring with Prince & The NPG has been a challenging and rewarding experience, and ‘Superconductor’ is a work of art that encapsulates the journey thus far.” A poet, songwriter, singer and dancer, Allo has been a member of The New Power Generation since 2011. Allo will continue to tour with Prince in conjunction with the release of “Superconductor.”

Meh - not sure about this. I'm going to the main show that night, but not sure if I want to stand for hours at what will probably be like the 2006 Tamar shows (ie, focus on Andy, with Prince in a supporting role).

The Ryder Cup is that week in Chicago, too. If Sweetie is coming to Prince with me, I'm going to have to throw him a bone by going to a practice round with him. I do not want to stand for hours at an aftershow, then drag my tired ass around a golf course the next day.

Does anyone know if tickets can be bought in advance or is this a stand in line kind of event? Its not on the House of Blues website.

I just called the house of blues in Chicago and they don't seem ot know anything about this show. They said that maybe its still in negotiations?

I read on a site that Prince would be playing first then Andy. I wish I could remember where because I don't like giving out bad info.

Andy Allo, a funk/soul artist, and member of Prince’s “New Power Generation” Band is coming to Chicago this Sunday night, September 23rd, to perform songs off of her new sophomore release, “Superconductor”, at the House of Blues Chicago, along with a special performance by NPG.

Allo, who is executive produced by Prince, is a poet, songwriter, dancer, and member of the New Power Generation Band since 2011.

The listening party will begin at 7pm. Tickets are on-sale now for this 21 and over show.

“Superconductor” includes six self-written tracks, with three songs co-written by Prince. The album will be released tomorrow, September 20th.

The show coincides with Prince’s “Welcome 2 Chicago” residency at the United Center that will be taking place September 24th, 25th, and 26th at the United Center.

Could an appearance by Prince be possible as well? I guess we will have to wait until Sunday night to find out.

Talked to THE House of Blues personally tonight and she also said there will be additional shows but about 1hour ago she was not at liberty to talk about the details at that time but more information would be revealed in the am ...so it seems there will indeed be the possibility of additional shows

Because we're driving down and going to the main show on Monday night - AFTER Sweetie has meetings for work in the morning. I thought it would just be too long a day with both shows that night.

We're coming home on Wednesday, so that rules out the Wednesday night shows.

I figured, if I split Monday and Tuesday, it minimizes the risk that Prince has a night where he's just not feelin' it. This way, we're bound to see at least one amazing show - if not two.
