PrintableGreat show! But I have to say the sound quality is really not as good in the purple circle as on the ranks. I was in Section 8 yesterday and the sound was amazing.
Public enemy were hanging around all the time in my quadrant. When Flava went up on stage his mate was recording with his phone. They gave him a warning and when he didn't stop recording the muse grabbed his phone. He was furious, but got it back when Flava left the stage. So funny, but they didn't care about anyone else recording.
I made it up on stage again and would be grateful for any pics
Days of wild at the end was almost like a mini aftershow, definitely the highlight of today for me.

As an aside - I ain't gonna be popular but imho these recent performances of Kiss are THE best live ones ever - and I mean that - so tight, funky - falsetto on point, dancing - the whole package.
It's the one song I've aways thought never quite made it as a live track - so i'm gonna give NPG props for that alone

I noticed tonight compared with last night that security were a lot more active and trying to stop people from recording video. One of Princes personal security guys actually walked up the stairs towards the second level to stop someone who must have been filming. | |

^^ Thanks serpan! Great pics! Looks like you were really close, or you had a telephoto lens. 2 observations: 1 - looks like Andy Mckee is his guitar player during the show, not just little acoustic showcases. 2 - why oh WHY is Prince wearing those platform flip-flops with socks! At a concert!

Both Melbourne shows have been fabulous – for different reasons. But the standout memory for me won’t be any particular show stopper but the “love in the room” – couples passionately kissing, people of all body sizes shaking it loose, ecstatic parents sharing their happiness with their equally excited kids. | |

It had more of a "polished" sound, being for an arena venue. The Ivy one sounds more "raw" and intimate, which I prefer. But both are great, and appropriate for the venue. I wish this rendition were available as an official recording. It matches the lyrics better.

Agreed. Even this morning, thinking back, I cant stop thinking about how great...and how different that song sounded. The original was of course great in its own right, but that version of it he did last night gave the song an entirely new life. It was definetly one of several highlights for me during last nights great show. | |

WOW!
I was expecting the worst when Prince let the NPG girls take reign early on in the show, but it turned out to be just a tease to what was to be an unbelievable show!
I didnt think the 1st Melb show could be topped, but FMD he DID!!!!!
At the end, some of the crowd complained about the lengthy breaks in-between breaks, but for those of us who understand and appreciate........... they were well worth it!!
To come out and did a final encore (when he didnt really have to), which was just jaw dropping. And although he's changed the 1st verse, Days Of Wild was simply funky!
Public Enemy did their thing and showed respect by not taking over the show. They knew who the man was. Never thought i'd see 911 Is A Joke live, so that was a blast!
And without sounding terribly gay, Prince bringing that little girl up on stage was simply gorgeous. I have one of my own, so it adds to the feeling. He held her hand, mimicked and danced with her which was very heart warming.
