To me it shows that Ticketek botched this up. Or Chugg. They obviously didn't know or didn't care the the behind the circle, behind the drum kits floor seats are really not great seats.

I went to 6 shows last year in New York/San Fran and LA sitting in a variety of seats and those A,B,C sections are really not great and these are the ones they gave to Showbiz and Preferred Seating?

Not well organized. I could be wrong... but it looks that way...

I mean they should really have just done what they did in America and sold that section as GA floor for $99 The ones on the front D,E,F are fine...

Maybe they do know and don't care?

Well, let's not jump to conclusions too quick. I haven't seen anyone say that their Showbiz or Preferred Seating ticket is behind the circle yet. It is a concern for people like me who still haven't been allocated a seat, but it's not necessarily the case that this will happen... Fingers crossed it doesn't though!!

You could be right. I will try to keep a positive attitude! I mean I am going to be in that section myself but I don't mind, I have side seats for the 2nd show even if they do suck a bit. I figure he will come around behind the drum kit and play out to the back for part of the show. Has to!

Either way we will be there and I remember the first time I ever saw Prince live was 1992 and I was at the first show in Sydney for Prince and I was in the back row. I mean, back against the wall, thats how far back I was and I still loved it. Its all about the electricity in the room with Prince.

I was also in the front row for another show and even got his guitar pick after he played Gett Off, he dropped it on the edge of the stage, I just saw him tear up Gett Off and then I got that exact pick. I still have it.

You can guess which was the more memorable night smile

NeedHELP!

My friends and I (we’re all 3) are going to Australia from Japan to see

W2A.We bought 2x Ultimate Purple Circle VIP ticket of 15/May thru showbiz

which was only sold in pairs, so we have one ticket left.

We wrote sale information on princeorg and Facebook, but there was no approach

so far. It’s just because it’s expensive($850-ticket cost+$47-insurance&charge) ?!

Or… Since we don’t live in Australia and can only pass the ticket at will call on the

day of performance, people might feel disadvantage.

It means it might be difficult to sell at ebay.

It’s such a huge money, so we believe a buyer wants to know whether the seller is

a person who can trust or not.

We will leave Japan on 12/May and arrive Melbourne on 13/May, are going to show

up pre-show meet up Arena café @ Rod Laver Arena.

Do you have any good idea to sell? Or know someone who wants?

We would like to sell this ticket since it’s such a excellent seat !!

even if we give a discount.

We can negotiate the price!

What does worry me is that Preferred Seating received their tickets from the promoter last Friday (this was confirmed by one of their customer service people) and a week later they are still saying they are unable to supply the seat number allocation. They say they will be sending out by registered post on Monday or Tuesday but cannot tell me my location today, at this point anything other than first five rows purple reserve on the side of the symbol is going to be a serious disappointment especially as I could go and buy a pair of these seats now on Ticketek for over $400 less, I'm still keeping positive but they are not making it easy

Tickets for the last Sydney show go on sale tomorrow and thanks to my Amex I can buy tickets at 8am already (the password is quite easy to find out... biggrin ). I can hopefully pick which seat I want, so what do you think are the best seats?

I guess the pointy end is better than the circle, but what's better, left or right? Piano side or the other side? Closer to the centre or closer to the pointy end?

I would define best as the area where Prince spends most time.

Good luck tomorrow everyone! I hope we all get the tickets we want.

I had a look an also got the same "error".

Looking just recently it was easy to still get on to Ticketek and get good seats without drama.

Pity the show is during the week and I have no money left otherwise I would go.

Gets pretty expensive when paying for tickets, accomadation and air fres.

Luckily I have a few Qantas Frequent Flyer points I can redeem for the flights otherwise I would be hitch hiking (well swim Bass Strait smile ) from Hobart to Melbourne and Brisbane

It's Perth I really feel for cos ANY one of the 3 cities is a LONG way to go - Adelaide and Canberra Newcastle etc etc all have the option of driving, hopping on a train etc and it being "doable" Hell when Prince announced European SOTT Tour that didnlt include London (wtf) I knew immediately I had to go to Paris fortunately I did have a little more time than 6 weeks before the gig to get organised and even back then pre chunnel days London to Paris was only a few hours with a drive and the ferry. You don't hear all the footy fans bleating on about the AFL grand final - they simply get caught up in the spirit of it and fill the trains and it all becomes a big event and they have a weeks notice for that one, why not for Prince?

it's so true about afl fans, they hop from city to city, or town to city all the time, and they do get notice because the fixture comes out the year before. the grand final is different, depending on if their team is in it. finals they have at least 4 weeks i suppose.

I'm a preferred seating sucker too. Its now three days until the concert and I still don't have my ticket! I bought a ticket for the second concert from ticketek and its been sitting on my desk for nearly two weeks now. I understood that it would take longer to go through preferred seating but getting the ticket 1 or 2 days before the concert (if I get it at all)......that's ridiculous.

Unless its the best damn Gold reserve seat in the house, I won't be using any of those pre-booking companies again....its a total rip-off.

I've learned my lesson...gullible little fan I that I was.

We are coming over from Perth for the Fri 11th show.
I have called Preferred Seating everyday for the last week, and every single time have been told a different story. The latest is, that the tickets and the package details (merch voucher, drinks voucher) are all to be collected from the venue.
The last guy I spoke to said that an email had been sent out last week - not received by me. He said that another would be sent this week - still nothing.
If my 550$ seat is behind the circle, I will be pissed.
I don't even know what time to head out to Allphones to collect?
Any ideas??
Has anyone received an email from them? If so, please post the email so we all know the details.
I will never be using them again, but like you all, I was desperate for a presale GOOD seat.
Cheers
Nick

Hi, I really feel for you, coming all the way from Perth and getting the run-around from preferred seating. Anyway, I just recieved an email from them 5 minutes ago. Unfortunately it looks like we won't know where our seats are until we sit in them! Here's the relevant part of the email attachement:

Your tickets and vouchers will be available for collection from Allphones Arena, from 4:00pm on the date of your show...

...The Showbiz Box Office Collection Point will be located beside the main venue box office to the left of the Grand Foyer entrance when facing the building......

....you MUST provide PHOTO ID upon collection.

re all these showbiz issues. Can someone explain why virtually everyone who brought presale packages seems to have gone with showbiz? Being in NZ I hadn't heard of them and bought the premium ticketek ones which seemed like it had better inclusions and was $75 cheaper (gold). Is showbiz Usually the way to go or did they just market better. I was concerned initially that everyone knew something I didnt but I got an email from ticketek over a week ago with all the details and seat numbers.

I feel for you all. The thought of flying In two days without knowing what was going on would give me the shits.

I'm sure it will work out fine in the end for all of us but stress like this ruins what should be excited anticipation.

That's right. I remember now. It was much more prominent. I think someone here posted a link to the ticketek ones or I wouldn't have seen it. Have you got your numbers yet? They are giving them out by phone seemingly.

Does anyone have an idea of how the ticket sales are going? I wish there was a big "sold out" for at least some of the concerts! Just now I tried to get an idea by checking out ticketek and was rather negatively surprised that I would be able to get three really great tickets for the first show in Sydney in the Gold section: Area: First Elevation Category: Gold Section: 8 Row: D Seat/s: 169-171

Great for everybody who wants to buy tickets yet this week, but I do hope that the concerts will be at least nearly sold out?!

Anyway, enjoy yourselves everybody and show Prince how much you have missed him! biggrin

Dear Valued Member,

Thank you for booking your Prince Tickets through Preferred Seating. We are
currently working on despatching your tickets and package information ASAP.
Due to the short lead time of the Prince Welcome 2 Australia Tour, we are
unable to meet our normal delivery timeframe for this large event. Please
be assured we will despatch tickets to you prior to the event.

Note: If you have ordered a VIP Package, we will be emailing you with
details of where you will be required to pick this up from the venue.

We apologise for the delay.

I was relieved to receive my preferred seating info email.. I think its almost exactly the same as the showbiz one.. I hope the showbiz people aren't like "what is this?!" but I'm sure it will be fine..

Also, I got told yesterday over the phone that we will be able to find out where we are seated by close tomorrow.. but thats what he told me about the email and I got that yesterday (and another today because their file wasn't working properly haha..) so who knows, they might already know!

I really should've gone with showbiz.. but their ticket thing only loaded up a second after I found no traffic on preffered seating's site.. go figure, right?

Ah well, I got a good ticket to the 2nd Sydney show from ticketek just to make sure that I wouldn't miss out!

Good luck everyone!

Good idea, It'll be quite exciting going to the first show and not knowing what songs will be played until they actually start.

I'll be going to all three Sydney shows, so it will be interesting to see how the setlist, and the feel of the show, vary from night to night.

I imagine there'll be a reasonable amount of press when the tour starts ( reviews etc), and the remaining tickets to the later shows will get picked up.
