Prince in Brazil is cancelled

According to tons of brazilian sites like UOL.COM.BR and G1.COM.BR Prince cancelled his back2black festival show.

It sucks. I had already bought the fly tickets and confirmed hotel reservation. He cancelled 4 days before the show. It´s ridiculous. He didnt even give a decent explanation to the producers of the festival, just an small email from his producer.

That sounds like Prince alright. Not the first time he pulled this trick. Sorry for everybody who wanted to go, the only reason I wasn't is because I can't afford the plane ticket right now, but if you can... make it a great holiday in Brasil! sad fit mexican jet

This sucks bigtime.. A longtime Carioca friend of mine, huge Princefan, was so looking forward to this. He bought tickets yesterday (which weren't cheap). Depressing and argh.. so tipically Prince..

Sorry to hear that.

I love Brazil. I spent 4 months there back in 2005, part travelling and part volunteering (I was on a project for street teenagers in Goiania).

I also went back in 2007 for 2 weeks but would like to return some day.

I did think he was overcommitting himself, as he's likely to want a bit of a rest after a long tour...also its costly to move all that equipment and team just for one concert...however he shouldn't have agreed it if he couldn't do it...who knows.

Maybe he just feels like he needs a break...fair enough but its tough on the fans, hope they get refunds.

I think that's maybe the problem. Don't think it's because he is too tired. But I don't see anything on the site of the festival yet... it does sucks anyway..

^ It was the same situation in Dublin 2008...just one concert booked...therefore the costs of doing a one off probably almost make it not worthwhile so he pulls out (OR the promoter fucked up in communicating with him?!)

If it was this he shouldn´t have accepted it in the first place. Not 4 days before the show. It´s so unprofessional i can´t barely believe it. There are people coming all over south america just to see this show. It´s not like cancelling a concert in europe or USA, places he always plays, it´s cancelling a show in a coutry(continent) he didnt played in the last 20 years.
