Prince launches the NPG Festival

http://consequenceofsound...-festival/

If 311 and Dropkick Murphys can do it, then why not Prince? The Purple Yoda is the latest musician to be putting on a music festival, his coming in the form of the Copenhagen, Denmark-based NPG Festival.

Set for August 6 and 7th at a seaside beach called Amager Strandpark, the festival promises two headlining sets from Prince, as well as performances from Janelle Monáe, Raphael Saadiq, and Chaka Khan, among others. As Prince notes in an issued statement, “The festival will play host to real music by real musicians.”

Multiple ticket packages are available, ranging from standard GA passes to ‘The Purple VIP Lounge Experience.” For complete details, visit the festival’s website.

He's not playing for you, he's playing for people who may not know the deal. He's showing people his favourite music of yesterday and today. That's the idea with a festival, show the casual festival goers what's up. He ain't just gonna do it one time and say "hey, the hateless people on the org have seen this now, they're all that matters, i better ditch my act and the people i currently like!". Seriously....no one gives a shit about you, stop complaining and trying to make someone look at you.

I know that's right. The hating on here has really gotten old. There are thousands of people who have never seen Prince before. They do not follow his every move, they do not scour the Org for setlists and boots from every concert. Those people seem to be enjoying themselves. Last I heard, most acts take their US shows to other countries with few changes, so where is the crime?

Not the same... because u guys almost have 21 days.... u didn´t have a festival

we in europe get 2 days-... and 6- 8 guests - it´s not the same.... getting my drift?

and when it´s a festival we gonna get a show that last including prince and the guest . i guess 8 - hours or ten hour and that for one day. You guys didn´t get that . That´s why it´s call NPG FESTIVAL . it´s a festival my friend. you think we gonna get 3 hours show like u guys did.???? no way mr.2020. So don´t you try 2 convience people that this is like the welcome 2 america tour.. Two days - 7 -8 guests. 8- 10 hours show..

I was hoping for something unexpected. He's been touring with Chaka and Larry since 1998. He needs some new people...

Prince, Chaka, and Janelle sounds like a great line-up to me! I've seen them all separately in the last year...would love to see them all together! biggrin
