Prince off 2 Europe...WTF!!!!

I'm a longtime member, first time poster and I could not resist the opportunity to say how disappointed I am that P is not continuing the tour in the US. I am one of the loyal followers from Chitown and I just knew he was gonna make his St. Loius, Detroit, Chicago, Minnie run like he usually does (most times at least). I hate for my first post to be negative cause I support P thru it all, but damn I was ready 2 c every Chitown show AND was gonna hit the road to neighboring cities. I no there's plenty time left in summer but I dont get why he wouldn't ride the summer US concert wave.

Im actually surrounded by alot of family and friends who respect P's talent but couldn't care less if he ever released another song and all of them were gonna go c him because he's a freakin living legend. He couldv'e done rather well with more US dates...

He has not announced that W2A is over, there will still be plenty of time for him to play more U.S shows after his European stint if he so wishes.

If he planned it properly, he could make a lot of money touring the US. But touring the feastivals in Europe means he can use someone elses stage, and bag 90 euros a head.

He could always tour the US in the fall.

Other than LoveSexy, I don't ever remember Prince doing a tour in the US and Europe at the same time/year. It's one or the other. I remember years ago I went to overseas to see D&P tour because I knew he would not bring that show to the states. My bf was like why go over there? I said just you watch Prince is gonna have another album out and move on...and that is what happened. Sexy MF /My Name is came out and states got ActI.

Why does Prince do anything? Because he can. People really need to stop expecting Prince to do things like everybody else. As a fan you know he on his own. I know by choice, but alone nonetheless he goes where the work is.

By the way, there is nothing wrong with Prince making money. That man works his ass off doing what he does. He is the best (imo) in the world at what he does and he should get what ever he can get for doing it. If that means I won't see him for a few years(yeah, the world is a big place) as a fan he is worth the wait. Prince has been doing this for a few decades now there was plenty of opportunity to see him, if you missed him during the years, It's not his fault.

Because Europe is where the money is at.

Indeed.
Even if we use the official exchange rate, how many $25 tickets do you see for the European gigs?

Assuming P treats his fans the same all over the world, you do the math.

($25 == 17.0932 EUR at the time ofthis writing, accoridng to xe.com)

Just gotta echo this. The Bay seems to show Prince so much love and we have such a rich music culture here the shows would be incredibly special. Anybody have stories from the previous Fillmore/DNA Lounge shows? Those were before I lived here and I'd love to read about some memories/experience.

As per Prince: "Summer in Europe is where it's at..."

Apparently the guy likes summer in Europe these days...

This.

The festivals make total sense for him. He gets his fee up front and the overhead is a lot lower. shrug

It's even worse.
The planned Berlin date has disappeared.
Is Goteborg still on?
Do we already know what day he performs in Goteborg?
He doesn't even finish a proper Euro tour.

So what is happening over there at the Park? Is P going nuts?
Is my 'sprinkles' theory (Dutch: hagelslag) looks more true to reality by the day:
P books a tour like anyone putting sprinkles on their bread.
