How can I be so ecstatic & bummed at the same time? Oh, yeah, cuz it's Prince.

So last night was amazingly awesome and fun...thanx to bronzefunk I scored a ticket for 7pm show w/out fees cause he's awesome like that...then I scored a $107 ticket for 2nd show....from being 5 feet away from Prince at times at both shows, his amazing set list at show 2, the DMSR funkfest for what seemed like a half hour, the guitar pick I scored from a Prince Security guy, the awesome fans I met & partied with, shaking RENATO'S hand outside by the back, telling Shelby James she's awesome to her face and her saying she liked my beret, seeing Prince walk by me from 3 feet away when he left 2nd show, the whole night was epic for me.....yet.....I hate myself because I could have scored the last show wristband for $100 but, I. ran. out. of. cash. duhloser I know it would have worked cause it worked for 2nd show. The whole night would have cost me $407 total for all three shows.

I hate myself:disbelief: but, I did drop off my son for school and make it into work today (so I could sit here at my desk and post about last night) and I'm not sure if I'd have made it if I left HOB at 4AM or 5AM so I guess it's ok, but I truly missed a chance of a lifetime so I am beyond bummed...and then I remember something amazing from last night and I'm happy again. I will be bipolar for a while I guess and should just accept that.

UR funny... It's hard 2 stop when U know there's more Prince happening... Bronze & I hit the first 2 shows as well. Not sure I'd be moving today if we tried for 3... Sick shows though.

The 1st show was off the hook. I know by looking at the set list that it seems just like one of the Forum gigs... But U & I know better. Glad U had fun... More 2 come.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I could have gone to the third show too. But if I stayed, I may have feel asleep on the drive home. Not good when you're the one driving!

I wish I could've met you last night, I was looking forward to it. Maybe at the Forum this weekend (if I get my tickets).

Yeah once I start I cannot stop! I was happy to go solo last night, no one could stop me!!!! :evillol:Except me and my no cash having a$$.

I do know better. Like I said in an earlier post, when I saw the name change from Prince Late Nite Jam to "Prince" I knew it would be funky & old school, basically classic, so the actual SETLIST itself did not surpise me that much but the rest of it BLEW ME AWAY! I danced like mad to "Let's Work" (with a broken ankle). Couldn't help myself if I tried. He brought it out of me.

When a thought would start to sneak into my head that maybe I paid too much he'd do something, lay down the bass, shred the guitar IN MY FACE!!!! eek and I would be overwhelmed with satisfaction. BEST $200 I EVER, EVER, EVER SPENT!!! That set rocked. It was a ParrrrrrTY!

Ahh, good, good, good memories. Sigh.

Your good friend bronzefunk is the MAN! wink

Yup, the last two miles felt a little dizzy to me. And it was all sleepiness (alcohol had worn off). So yeah, it's good I'm sitting here........(but oh, oh, oh, how would I feel today if I had been at that last show just 5 hours ago, ahhhh, ahhh, ahhh, gotta get over it, get back to work!!!).

I know right???? And the guy had FIVE "heart" wristbands the Foundation Room ones. Selling them all for $100 a piece. The guy I was hanging out with only had $50 cash on him but had an ATM card. I really wanted to ask him to front me the $ but I didn't think that was fair or right. It would have been difficult for me to do that for a complete stranger, I didn't want to ask (I also was afraid he would ask me to pay for it other than monetarily and MAN I WANTED TO GO TO THAT SHOW so it was all better left unsaid). HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA joking (mostly).

It sure is hush hush about that show so far but I guess their heads and ears are still ringing.

I saw you at the 2nd show, glad you had a good time. Man, you mustabeen feeling it, because I was invited to the last one and didn't have the energy. I guess I'm the only one who's feet were killing them. If I only were a weed smoker, maybe I would have been up to it? So....you weren't tired?

You know what, I was in it to win it wink I have a broken ankle I'm still on the heal was off work for 3&1/2 months and it was killing me but I didn't care. This was the first time I was able to go by myself and from so many years I know how to play the Prince Game (doing it since 1985). I never know exactly how it will turn out but I go with my instinct and timing and it turns out good each time but this time was gonna be my epic night because I went by myself and NO ONE COULD STOP ME and say "come on Antoinette let's go home" or "let's just go eat." I did what I wanted to do, stand around, talk to fans, hang out (no one I take wants to do that with me) and it ended up working out, walked right into $100 3rd show tix at 1:50AM and damn myself I BLEW IT. I ALWAYS HAVE CASH, aaaack. SO IT WASN'T MEANT TO BE FOR ME (but my heart says it was).

Did you have $100 cash cause if I knew you were standing outside and did I would have had you grab one of those five $100 third show wristbands. TRUST I know they would work for 2 reasons and one was that's how I got in 2nd show (same guys) and two I was on the elevator (break us down, wink Prince lyric) and the Blue Uniform Security Guard/Cop running the elevator would have taken me up to the 3rd floor if I had the right wrist band (which I didn't so he politely escorted my a$$ to the 1st floor and out the door thank you very much).

I am glad/grateful/thankfu you are 100% right, what a spoiled bi-otch my gosh, you have put it in perspective and I will shut up now. TOTALLY SERIOUS. YOU'RE RIGHT. Thanks.

I have awesome memories, met awesome people (& Shelby James & shook hands with Renato!!!) and have a Prince Guitar Pic. What more could a purple girl ask for?

Haha no I had no money, money is very tight here. I got there around 12 and heard Little Red Corvette , and it was a long pause so we left, and I thought that was the end of the third show, it wasn't lol. But I was so excited and happy and screaming just be outside the place knowing Prince was right there.. I did see him opening night at the forum, which was the best night ever. I am so greatful everyday I got to see that show. I can't tell if you're being sarcastic lol . It was so fun last night though, my mom and brother aren't really fans and they were both looking at me like 'aww' Lol. Filmed a little video too razz

NO, NO, NO NOT SARCASTIC AT ALL, I was trying to put it across as not sarcastic by bolding it and saying you're right, I was afraid it would look that way (sarcastic). I agree. I wasn't thinking "Dang, I got in to BOTH shows that I wanted to get into" I was thinking I blew it because I never even IMAGINED going to the 3rd show ($500 yeah right) but there it was right in front of me for $100 and no go. But I got a lot so I am blessed and you have helped me. Seriously that's how I am, upbeat and cheerful, but glass half full. Negative when it's ALL GOOD. I WISH WITH ALL MY HEART PRINCE COULD READ YOUR POST THAT YOU WERE SCREAMING FOR HIM OUTSIDE KNOWING HE WAS IN THERE and your family's reaction. That is SO COOL and if Prince knew that it should warm his heart and make him want to MAKE IT UP TO YOU. That is a true fan and I hope he truly knows fans like you are out there. How cute are you????? smile

I know that (in it to win it) feeling very well. I arrived at 9:50pm and fell into the first show. I was like "oh wow, ok." The first thing I noticed was Prince's outfit. I know we (men) don't get the same effect that some of you women receive from seeing Prince's gear, but I thought it was cool how he was dressed. My next immediate thougtht to myself was "yeah, but that's ONLY cool for him, no other man." lol I stood next to Dr Funk and enjoyed the last seven songs of the show, so the evening started very well for me. Since, we were standing next to the light man, he told me that show was over after last song, so I quickly got over to the restaurant and had a perfect location, about 2.5 people behind GDB. You were probably THE trooper for the night, so if I would have fed off of your energy, we probably both would have attended the 3rd show.

Oh, I was soooo digging his hat. I was wearing my beret and I just dug it. So cute, so funky that hat. Now for Prince's outfits, yes, only he can wear them and honey, I don't know, I guess they've grown on me cause I was digging it last night but back in the day I NEVER dug his clothes. It didn't ruin the xperience for me but I would pretty much just go uh, uh, NO disbelief

I guess the more we are into an artist, the more we dissect. I would say that it's always been hit and miss with me, per his hairstyles and wardrobe. I like the business look, but then when he would put the feminine touch on his hair while wearing somewhat formal wear, couldn't roll with that either. But then again, sometimes he's worn some incredible outfits. For example, the Anotherloverholenyouhead video was a cool look. Raspberry Beret...not so much. When I look at some of his older performances, no joke, they are hard for me to watch because of his appearance. Then, other times...I'm feeling, there ya go Prince, give your stylist a raise. Take a look at the 2006 Brit Awards performance, nice outfit. I saw an Endorphinmachine video, where's he wearing a HUGE black hat and red clothes...that was cool. What he wore at the Super Bowl peformance was solid. He could be worse, ya know...a lot worse. lol

Oops, tired NOW, forgot to say awesome xperience for you highfive and Nice location for show 2 highfive AND LOL that we would have attended the 3rd show! smile Love it. BTW How did you see me, know it was me at show 2?

Great experience. I didn't know it was you then, I know now, after reading info. The beret narrowed it down quite a bit.

Ok, so I get back from lunch thinking I'm finally gonna get something done today and u got me googling Prince videos!!! lol Some I couldn't find and none I liked but Super Bowl was good, anytime he wears a do rag I'm about to faint. That's the look I am DOWN with. When he came out the 3rd weekend at the Forum when Mint Condition was wearing all white and he was in all black with black do rag I was smitten. But then he changed real quick. Honestly out of al the eras I think I am feeling these years the most. I like the flowing lightweight peasant blouses etc. and when he wore those white pants one night on the piano me and my girlfriend got an eyeful shocked Anyway the music, guitar, bass, voice, attitude and dancing has always held me captive no matter what brother has on. I know you will agree.

Yes, I am a TOTAL dork, as soon as I posted that question I knew it was the beret. err Got lots of compliments on it last night. Shelby James said she liked it!!! I was slightly tempted to give it to her. She would look cool with it on. pimp Again, I like do rags, hats, scarves, etc. and take full advantage of them especially when I need my hair did. smile

Google his live performances. The Jay Leno outfits you'll probably like. Another thing, I would say when he wears glasses, sun or otherwise, they're normally pretty cool. I haven't paid close attention to his wardrobe for the 21 Night Stand and small shows, but if I recall correctly what he's worn, I think he's done a great job dressing this year.

At the end of the day, it's all about the music for me when seeing him live. I think I notice his clothing more re video or tv, which is why yesterday was kinda strange for me because his outfit normally doesn't have an effect on me.

Yessss, glasses, gooood, even tho it's a cryin' SHAME to cover those EYES!!!!! But he looks hot with glasses sun or otherwise Agreed (tho I prefer sunglasses)! You know, when he's in all black like that it's always special, then rockin' that cute hat with his cute dang self I think that's what got you. Got me. Obviously. Brother was looking good last night. As usual.

I appreciate "the look." lol

I can get close..but can't go with you all the way to calling him cute. But sometimes his outfits help portray the mood he's in and I think that's how I was affected last night....cool not cute, okay? thumbs up!

Yup, cool, agreed. Sorry, lost myself in the moment, now that u mention, I wouldn't expect you to think he's cute, haha. Brother has the cool swag for daaaayz. ah, man, I can't think that way no more. touched You know, his style fits him to a T. That's it right? Like you originally said, you thought hey, brother looks cool 2nite then thought, well, not for me or any other MAN, but still cool. I get U. He does it on purpose right? I dress for my mood too. He can set a complete mood with his outfit, sound, attitude. I thoroughly enjoy that about his concerts. I do see that other artists do that too, but I haven't really seen many settings that move me the way Prince's does. I can appreciate all the edgy artists now and enjoy seeing/watching them all really do but Prince's move me and that's why I'm a fan. (not to mention the cute hat!!!! smile sorry but I was digging it hard like I said.

U had a blast @ the 1st 2 shows, i however spent the night eating cookies, & watching re-runs of The Jamie Foxx show sad Im kinda living threw ur memories right now biggrin It seemed like 2 great shows, i actually would have love 2 see him in a more intimate setting, then the two 21night shows i paid for (well one of those shows anyway) but i wasnt in town, couldnt book a flight in time & didnt feel like trying 2 drag my man out there

The funny thing is I tried so hard ALL day for the $100 show that I thought would be the best and in it's own way, as far as setlist, it was, but the crowding and visual impairment was not expected although in hindsight I don't know why I pictured booths with everyone sitting and watching & being mellow. I've never been in that room so I wouldn't know but I pictured more intimate less people. I NEVER even planned on the 1st $200 show cause I felt it was too much to pay and honestly isn't great for my budget now and LOVED that one. Yes, I'm ridiculous that so much is never enough.
