Getting your seats moved

Ok, this is the first time I am sitting upper level since the Lovesexy tour. Taking the whole family to San JO and splurged in Oakland so had to go cheap

What is the process of trying to get your seats moved closer? I've seen it and heard it..... just wondering what the best way to go about the whole thing????

Wondering this, too. I'm in the same boat, and I've heard about ticket upgrades happening at the Oakland shows.

I hear you guys. All I could afford this time around was the upper level as well. At the Oakland shows I heard about a bunch of people getting upgraded but didn't see it. One of my friends knew one of the ushers and he hooked her up so I'm curious as to how you could get upgraded.

If u and I were just ten feet closer, then I'd make u understand

Unfortunately there is no process to share with you. I have exchanged tickets at the box office and inside at Guest Services. Earlier during the residency it was easier but the box office began doing it less frequently to where now they just say no, no upgrades. Inside at Guest Services it appears to be comparably easier...that doesn't mean EASY, just that if the box office WON'T do it, at least you have a shot at it with Guest Services. It also depends upon whom you ask, and maybe how you ask. My guess is, when word got out that great seats were being withheld and coming up on the day of show the box office were instructed to stop with the upgrades and try to sell as much as possible at full cost. They would prefer that you spend the $200 for those great loge or floor seats rather than get them for $25. The fault is not with the public though, it is with whomever dictated the pricing structure...but that's another conversation altogether.

One thing you might try is if you are up high in the colonnade, or pinched in at an uncomfortable angle...go to Guest Services and complain that your view is either obstructed, or people up there are doing something to affect your enjoyment of the show (smoking, drunk, loud, etc). It's a crapshoot at this point.

I am going to Thursday San Jo show so it's more likely to upgrade than a Saturday. So I just ask them if there is anything else available once I arrive there?

I may have misunderstood your question...are you asking about upgrading at the Forum, or upgrading your seats in San Jose? My experience has only been with the Forum. I would imagine though that the process would be the same...you have probably three options:

1) Ask at the box office/Guest Services office if upgrades are available for that show;

2) Find some unoccupied seats closer to the stage, sit in them and hope the occupants don't show up (not recommended, especially if you're bringing a date or family members; that can be awkward at best, embarassing at worst if an usher makes you move);

or 3) if there are better seats available, buy them and try to sell your other less desirable ones, give them away or just eat the loss and enjoy your better seats.

I guess what I'm asking is there a chance to upgrade for free if you talk to guest services and there are better seats available at showtime. Want to get my lil kids closer smile

I think the question has been answered...yes, there is a chance. It's all up to the whims of the box office and/or Guest Services. No guarantees.
