What the hell is going on with just a simple thing of going to see your favour artist in concert? No its not that simple with Prince is it, one way or another lately someone is getting mugged off, its not like that with other artists.

Anyone want to buy a Sunday ticket?

I'm sooo pissed off with this. Getting on Twitter and Facebook about this. Ridiculous that they can issue all these cheap tickets so close to the event. I would have loved to go to all 3 nights, but am broke so scraped the £80 for the ticket and £24 for the coach and now realising I should've held off for this. Bitter taste in my mouth and will be bad mouthing this promoter all over the shop!!

Can anybody who has already got tickets tell me if the tickets say anything like 'GA: GA 66' on there? Anything like that? If so, I don't think these tickets would be 'seated' or section at the back but just general admission after 8pm.

Thanks

Mine doesn't (from Eventim) but I'm guessing the GA is 'general admission'. I suppose the extra £30 we've paid assures our front row (ish) position....anyone coming in at 8pm is gonna have to have sharp elbows to get that close.

I have a sneaky suspicion it's going to be amazing- whatever the weather. See y'all there.

No..your £70 tickets assures you get to see the other acts on the day..to get your front row position it will be every person for themselves..it's a festival..you ain't special smile

I wasn't planning to go but my sister got me tickets biggrin

I find it amazing how much we have all changed from the days of the ONA tour where I recall (myself) doing anything and paying any amount for the tickets and pre-show stuff. Exciting times then. Hopefully by 11:30pm on the Sunday we will all be happy campers.

How did you know this was going to happen..you could have held off and not got a ticket at all (and still moaned) Why is this different from buying a can of beans for 50p and then a week later they are reduced to 25p...would you complain at that?...I think the answer would be a no!

I didn't know it was going to happen, but spent £80 when I really couldn't afford it and think I have the right to be a litte disgruntled about it!

If the line up on the day was as interesting as the other days I wouldn't really care so much, but the fact that I could have got a ticket for the act I want to see for half the price is a bit annoying. I would feel the same if the pair of shoes I bought full price were reduced 2 weeks later. A little less annoyed actually!

They just should have been more honest about the levels of tickets you could buy upfront meaning it's your decision to come for the day/evening whatever. I also saw that the 3 day tickets are cheap as chips. I would have liked to have gone for the whole thing, but thought it was out of my price range, when now actually it seems like I could have afforded it.

It is different for two reasons.

Firstly, the value. Its a lot of money extra in the current climate.

Secondly, with beans you have the option to shop around. You accept an open market. With tickets, there is a fixed price. That is usual in the UK entertainment industry.

To cut the price now is not common practice and penalises the hardcore fans who buy early in support. It will also have a negative impact of sales of other shows, as its the hardcore likely to attend again. I will definately wait until the last minute now to buy for Dublin, Ghent or Paris.

£44.50 eh? I am now officially tempted, I have no problems standing in the middle or back of the field as a lone "hardcore" as I have never pushed up to the front to try and steal Unique's "regular spot", or tried to outdo his chronological knowledge of Prince singles. razz wink

Squirrel, I agree. Feel sorry for you guys getting shit on now with the discounted tickets. You can't win can you? This is my concern about Dublin, where the price is ridiculous. I have flights and hotel booked. I almost booked pit yesterday, but the fact that pit, general and seating are all still easily available (I checked) is a good indicator that demand is very low. Lets say the venue holds 30K, as someone on here stated. Lets say the pit holds 3K. Let's say 80% is taken by hardcore fans not going for seats go for pit rather than general as its only an extra Euros 10. Thats roughly 2,400 tickets sold for the pit. How many would have bought general standing for Euro's 10 less? Lets say less than 5K for whaever reason they may have, access, crowding etc. I would be very surprised if Dublin has sold 10K tickets and can't see it selling 20K at full price. How many casual fans are going to buy due to advertising, on whim, or a walk up, at Euros 100 a go, minimum, for standing????? Can't bring myself to pay Euro's 211 for two tickets at the moment (and I bought two at about Euros 270 in total fro Croke). The price for Dublin, like Paris and already Kent, has to come down. Am not averse to paying, but it has to be value. Dublin most certainly is not.

ticket reductions in the UK aren't that uncommon, but it does happen, particularly when gigs don't sell out

the o2 regularly does it to shift the last batch of tickets, usually last minute the day before the gig or the day of the gig, sometimes it's the crap upper tiers, but sometimes it can be really good tickets held aside for VIP packages that don't sell so they release the tickets on their own. sometimes when things are really bad they do things like £5 a ticket or just pay booking fee

again you sometimes get that for big stadium gigs that don't sell so well, such as half price bon jovi tickets (you know the band that were waffling on about selling more nights at the o2 than prince, the band that plays the same song 28 times a night?)

and this festival has done the same thing before, but as few people heard of it before they didn't know of the practice

it is a pisser for fans, but what can you do? it would be nice if the reductions etc were offered to people who already bought a ticket first, such as an option to add friday and saturday for an extra £40 if you have a sunday ticket

i suppose with the AEG thing you don't get the full day with the cheaper ticket, but the other offer i posted gave you sat+sun for the price of sunday, plus friday free, although there were only 300 sets of tickets available and you could only get 2 per person per order (but i hear you could place more than 1 order)

i'm still going anyways. i'm used to all the dicking about when it comes to prince gigs. it's never like an normal artist where you buy a ticket, turn up and watch the show. there's always some drama and excitment

i'd actually be happy if hardly anyone turned up on sunday and we all ended up front row and prince did a special set just for us, like a setlist of covers of popular festival tunes, like creep and wonderwall, wearing his hi heeled wellies

My mate intends waiting a week and picking up a full sunday ticket on ebay for a tenner. Looking at how many are going unsold on ebay, he is probably right.

He picked up a next day Take That ticket in Manchester a couple of weeks ago for 99p.

I would get a refund and buy the ones for 25p, simple tings!

Majority of big companies dont try and screw their customers over they will give you a refund and offer you the better deal, where AEG will not. AEG act like gangsters.

I rememeber when at the o2 for Prince on the first night I had two vip tickets me and Unique was gonna use then we found out nearer the time they were selling £31.21 floor tickets, they had front row ones. We looked on the seating map and worked out they were a few feet away from the vip section. Me and Unique decided to go with the floor seats for £31.21 realising the vip ones wasn't worth it.

When i tried to get a refund on the vip ones they weren't having it, I was in continual long and tiresome battles with them trying to get my money back, nothing was would working. Now Im usually good at that kind of stuff of knowing your rights and I work with customers and could sell snow to an eskimo, but they wasn't budging coz they kept on using their 'no returns' policy on me, but I kept on trying I had over £300 at stake here. Unique said let me speak to them for you, an hour later Unique said Cat there gonna phone you back with your refund just give them your card details! I was like eek HTF did you do that? Up this day hes never told me! A week later I got my refund. Then the night for Prince we sat looking around and realised we had better seating view than the vip section and what a rip of vip was.

Now that was a one off refund and they will never do that again. We all remember people made a loss from the o2 shows, it wasnt good.

Now if i dont wanna go to hop farm ticket are they gonna give me my money back? Like hell are they!

Has no one worked out, the reason its half price after 8pm is that by then half the acts will have already performed. It starts at 11am does it not? £40 for 2 hours, or £70 for 10? It shows me the event is actually far from sold out and I would not mind the extra atmosphere.
