^ and ^^ re: the low energy of the crowds -- This is the main reason I'm passing on the remaining shows. No interest in hanging with casual, at best, fans(?) from South Central who paid $25 to gawk at an icon. As the dates roll on I would assume there are less and less hardcore fans in attendance to keep the energy up. Nothing is more of a bummer than to be seated with folks who wont get off their ass for a couple hours to enjoy themselves.

Also, how exciting would the last stretch of these dates be if they were at The Roxy or somewhere like The Troubadour? Charge $100 for every GA ticket. Cheap enough for everyone but pricey enough to keep out the party-poops.

Please read the following directions for this show VERY carefully BEFORE you try to purchase tickets--

There are NO hard tickets for this show--the ticket purchaser and their guest will walk immediately into the venue upon check-in.
There will be no ins and outs (if you leave the venue after you have checked in, there will be no re-entry--NO EXCEPTIONS).
There is a two (2) ticket maximum per HOUSEHOLD per show.
There are ABSOLUTELY NO ticket transfers for this show.
1. Only the ticket purchaser will be able to check-in for this show and must have the following three (3) things with them in order to get in:
  1. Their government issued photo ID.
  2. Their credit card they used to purchase the tickets.
  3. Their guest (if two tickets are purchased).
2. If you do not have items #1 & #2 with you, you will be DENIED entry--NO EXCEPTIONS.
3. If you do not have your guest with you upon check-in, your guest will not be getting into the show--NO EXCEPTIONS.
Photo policy: NO CAMERAS OF ANY KIND.

Door will be slow having to check every last person in personally w/no tickets, but there's only a few hundred people so may not be so bad. They had a similar setup for Pete Townshend's benefit show & people at the back of the line when doors opened got in within half an hour.

I was there too. With Prince it's damned if you do damned if you don't. People complain about him playing the same songs over and over, but that night he played live for the first time: When Eye Lay My Hands on U, Journey to the Center of Your Heart, The Sun The Moon and Stars, When the Lights go Down, I Love U... She Spoke to Me, and In a Large Room with no Light. As a long time fan I loved that show. I don't care what pop(ular) music fans like, that night he played a show for the real fans.
