Camera Policy Pre- Prince at LA Forum I'm saying this only to be nice about it everyone attending a prince concert tomorrow or in the near future we have strict orders for no video taping/recording no cell phone camera photo's or camera's that have any kind of video taping bulit in of any kind snapping photo's of the show From begining to end from Opening Act till prince leaves the stage is prohibited By prince's Managment Team and Forum Managment
Yes you can bring your cell phones and yes if it has a camera on it so be just don't snap away
Security will not put up with camera's begin snapped or begin sneaky and snapping photo's better to check the camera into guest services or don't bring it in the venue leave it all in the car
When Prince say's Use your phone as a light or wave your camera in the air That's as far as that goes don't be sneak and stand there recording and snapping photo's please you will be escorted off forum property
pre- prince/managment team/Forum Managment "PRINCE" does not want any photo's or Video taping of his concerts at LA Forum period unless you are his 'PRINCE" personal Videographer/Photographer ONLY
if security tell you to put it away once let it be that only time
have a blessed evening

Same as the Garden...but there the security can only harass the disabled people up on the level, and everybody in the seats gets away with it! And who cares because THIS VIDEO HAS BEEN REMOVED BY NPG RECORDS!

Trust what is being said here people. I have attended four of the six shows performed so far and can say that it appears to be more security presence now than when the residency began...either that, or they have a greater presence throughout the arena. I saw several security people going up and down the aisles scouring for people using their phones to record and letting them know in no uncertain terms to knock it off. Outside the venue there was a flyer posted basically asking people to respect Prince's request to not record or take any photos, and when you consider what he is sharing with the people who are able to come out to these shows (accessibility and cost), it is not too much to ask of us to respect his wishes. He really is giving the people of Los Angeles and those who are able to visit here a generous gift.

I took about 8 short videos, no hassles. Only took like 3 still pix. Security was warning everyone loudly on the way in no cameras/recording/pix. I was sitting in an aisle seat in Loge 35, in the middle of the Loge and Security never passed by once. Maybe it's where you sit too. If Security is heavy where you sit they gotta enforce it. I don't know, but it's a crying shame cause Prince on my videophone this morning is a beautiful thing & I want to share!!!

WOW.............. this is my 3rd show and I never noticed and have never been told. It seems like everyone was taking pix. I guess it depends on where you sit and how close the security guards are to you.
I sat in loge 4 and was taking pics like crazy with a camera. [Edited 4/30/11 10:25am]

Here's the thing it's not where you sit we have a responsiblity to enforce No camera's and Video Eqipment throughout the arena in the nosebleeds Loge and especially floor and Vip you and everyone else. You And Everyone else mostly would be seeing a Supervisor in Blue enforcing the rules more often than the actual event staff in Yellow our job is to make them enforce it as much as possible in there section yes we can't stop everyone but it will be better enforced and if I see you any of you I will be doing my job and asking you with ind words to put it away respect the security and cooperate with personnel and don't sneak and take photo/video records afterwards after begin told if I see you doing the same thing more than once I will make it a point as I did yesterday to patrol each section of the arena and get cameras out the air and tell you put it away in a purse or in your pockets I even might escort you during "The Opening Act and Prince to guest services to check in your camera again THESE ARE PRINCE RULES AND POLICY OF THE VENUE WE ASK THAT YOU RESPECT IT
Thank you have a enjoyable time at prince at The LA Forum

People are gonna do what they want to anyway, so this issue is dead in the water.Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

That's cool and all, but if it's THAT serious then don't allow cameras, including phones w/cameras in the building. I'm not the type that's really interested in taking pictures, but I am interested in watching a show without security prowling up and down the aisles like they are robotic idiots; it RUINS the vibe. So again, take care of business at the door and there won't be a need for all of this foolishness.

With all due respect, this subject is like trying to stop the rain. Security only checks the purses of women. No pat down for men. I realize to check everybody would be time consuming but it won't stop the pictures or videos, policy or no policy. I'm just saying.

With all due respect, those grainy videos on You Tube is the best free advertising any one could dream of. It is followed with a comment section with plenty of drooling praise by those that attended and not. They are linked to Facebook and every other social media. The exposure is far greater, better, more direct and honest than George Lopez, a radio show, or any other way of advertising even if he had an unlimited budget.
As someone who agrees with Prince in removing his recordings from You Tube, I think this is a big mistake. The low quality of these videos only whets your appetite to go see his show. Or go see him again. And again. And again.
The immediacy of the fan reation by those who attended and enjoyed the shows and are gushing about it, posting their pictures and videos to their friends and family is priceless.
Just saying. [Edited 5/1/11 10:46am]

Typical Prince:
1. No Cameras at my shows 2. Everybody Take Your Phone(Camera) Out.
1. I've Got A Great Band 2. Tony M is in the band, he's a great hip hop legend
1. The Chocolate Invasion is coming soon 2. Your house can't be invaded due to a distribution problem (Yes pressing up cds is a big mystery, and then actually putting them in a case, and mailing them out turned out to be too hard.)
1. Here's Your Lifetime Membership to my Internet Fan Club 2. That website "went as far as it could go," It's only $77 for the new one(I mean $77 T Shirt) 3. Puts 77 Tracks on 20Ten to make fun of ripping fans off for $77
1. Crystal Ball Will NEVER BE IN STORES 2. Album in Stores with an extra album with a title Prince should not be using: THE TRUTH
1. Tells French DJ about 20Ten Deluxe 2. Still waiting on that one.
I love this guy, but unelss you are such a Prince ass kisser who thinks he can do no wrong, there is an awful lot of crap to put up with being a fan.

There were TONS of people taking pics last night - with both cell phones and actual cameras with flashes. At one point before the show started I noticed some of the event staff in yellow jackets taking pics FOR people standing in front of the stage!! Maybe 2 times during the show staff flashed their flashlights at people who were taking pics, but this was very rare. I even recorded the entire 11 minute version of Purple Rain he did last night! No problem
