Wow what a ridculous post Prince is not going to make U2 money because he is not doing anywhere near the number of shows that they do when they go on tour. It is like comparing Apples to Oranges. If he wanted to do it he can he did with Musicology which had promotion and a CD out with a major record label and he did covers at those shows.

For whatever reason he has decided to make the large arena shows almost like after parties it appears to me making the fans happy and he is selling out MSG.

Since we are in bad economic times just maybe he knows what he is doing by staying in one big city and performing. You are knocking something that appears to be working.

Well, if you had 3rd grade reading skills you would read a part of my post that addressed this. I shortened it above to make it easier for your shortcomings. I was using sarcasm. With real management and the ability to make career decisions, Prince would've been just as big as U2, but we all know the path he chose. U2 never had a Tony M in their band. As much as I love Prince, seeing Tony M, Damon D, and Kirk J in those Star Trek Next Generation uniforms was about the saddest thing I ever saw. Here is the guy who did SOTT and 1999 has this lame shit going on. Anybody who thinks that Jughead and Daddy Pop were great songs...well, I think you are an idiot.

And as far as his concerts. I would like to see about 15 recent songs with 9 hits, which would make 24 songs...but he doesn't play long enough to play 24 full length songs. He continues to survive on a diet of Kibbles N' Bits, and doesn't have the mentality or stamina to play much more than 2 hours. At least Bono's fat ass gives the fans 2 and a half hours, and I paid $55 for On Field seats at 4 different shows in 2009...so I went to 4 U2 shows for the price of one Prince W2A ticket. Of course, I think Prince is 20 times better than U2, but I also think U2 gets more out of themselves than Prince does...But I have to keep going to U2 shows, since they play tons of shows within easy traveling distance for me. From 2005-2010 Prince has made 1 appearance in Florida, and it was one of those damn covers concerts where he could've been playing 3121 material.

Sometimes seeing Prince is frustrating...like watching Michael Jordan play basketball with one arm behind his back...he's still better than most...but obviously not giving his all.

And to those calling my posts absurd? Just don't read them. If your level of intellect is so high, you should be updating the website at Harvard instead of reading anything I have to offer.

Wow the asshole level is really high on this post. Who the fuck are you to call anyone an idiot because they do not agree with you or enjoy the P songs you enjoy (WTF)? Prince is not U2 different audiences different planet if you could not stand looking at P onstage with all the black people you should have averted your eyes and listened to more U2. Diamonds and Pearls sold about 5 million copies and was a big turn around for him after the disaster of GB. You do not have to like RnB or anything remotely popular to the stupid masses but history is history. Now put down your crack pipe and take some real meds and do not bitch to the mods about this post either as your response was completly out of line but par for the course on this board these days.

I'm so curious as to why this guy is just adding more and more NYC dates if this is called the Welcome 2 America Tour, I can't lie. I mean it's cool and I'm happy that I get to go again, and THIS is one of the main reasons Im so sick of living in NYC but can't leave (everything happens here!) but it's just... strange. I'd like to assume that at some point he'll take this thing elsewhere, but y'all already know how Prince can be, he just be doing stuff to be doing it. No rhyme or reason.

I'd also love some other songs besides the ones he's been pulling out for these shows, I need some Parade/Around The World In A Day-esque stuff but w/o horns on this tour, my dream of hearing Mountains doesn't look like it's gonna happen.

In any case, I hope that Prince fans in other states will get a visit from Prince at some point this year. Otherwise why would the shows be called Welcome 2 America? **shrug**

I figured that Welcome 2 America may have something to do with the location of his concerts. Ya know, the whole Ellis Island thing and NYC being the 1st stop of many immigrants coming to this country. It seems to make sense up to this point because he hasn't announced shows anywhere else.

Until he plays some shows outside of the NYC area I don't see how this could be considered a tour. So far it's just another series of engagements. IZOD and MSG are not even 8 miles from each other.

That what I thought too! Initially it looked like the announcement of a tour, but since no further dates were announced and the extra ones were in the same location, it must've been that.
