so i've been walking my neighbors walk 4 times a week for 10 yrs now cause she working long crazy hours in the medical field...i just went to walk the dog. this has got to be one of the worst storm i've seen in my 29 yrs. the drifts to her condo were nearly waist high. i shoulda brought the camera outside. poor little dog had icicles on her face from the wind after just walking up and down the street. carried her to the plowed road that barely looks plowed. and this is supposed to last another 12 hours??

Just my opinion, but I would suggest you do the Coach bus from Newark airport..it leaves every 15 minutes...get out at the Port Authority stop (right near your friends..you could even walk to their apt) or hop in a cab, drop off your stuff.. then cab it to MSG. It is $15 one way for the bus and then you would have pay for cab fare ...see the problem with these "share ride" vans is that they have to drop off other people as well as yourself. It could take you forever to get 47th and 9th ave. Did this company give you an actual arrival time? here is the Coach bus link: http://www.coachusa.com/olympia/

Tempting....wonder if i could get a refund from the other guys...hmmm....I am soooo broke! AHHHH!

Thanks for the headz up!!

F#@ck, just checked the weather here, it doesn't look good for me sad (fingers crossed). I'm sure you will be fine though. Good luck.

Well, our trip was cancelled from NYC to Houston so I need a ticket for the 29th! Anyone have an extra ticket in a good location on the arrow side of the stage for me to buy?

Try stubhub, because I'm sure there will be some available the day before/day of show, and the prices will be lower. Fickyt, how was the view from the 225 section on 12/18? Were you able to have a good view?

It was very good. They have some in the same area on stubhub, I will probably buy one there again if nothing opens up the morning of the concert. I assume you had no problems with stubhub?

Oh they were great! I picked it up at 1440 Broadway in less than 5 minutes with no problems whatsoever. I purchased the tix, 3 days before the show online, because I tried for tix with tixmaster and I had no luck.

I just showed my id and confirmation receipt. When you purchase online from them, you will get a message that the seller has to confirm, but you don't have to wait for that confirmation, because once the ticket is purchased, it's yours. I guess it's just policy for them to post the message about the seller confirming, so the seller could be aware the ticket was sold. I spoke directly to a customer service rep about that, and that was what she told me. Only thing, is that you can't pick up the tix until 2 hours before the show. I actually picked mine up at 4:30 pm, with no problem.

Also, the day of the show, ticket prices are usually lowered at stubhub. So it's up to you if you want to wait until the day of the show to buy tix from them or go ahead and purchase one today or Tuesday. Once you buy the tix, you can even check back on their seating map and you will notice that they take that seat off the map, because you purchased it.

I'll more than likely use stubhub again for the 1/18 show.

I think I will wait, I have a feeling with this weather situation there will be a lot of tickets available at the last minute, either on Ticketmaster or Stubhub. Anyone that was coming in yesterday or today is, unfortunately, going to be out of luck I think because the flights for tomorrow and Wednesday are going to already be full.

Well maybe they heard about the blizzard warning which was being reported since late Friday. So far the sun is out right now, although it's very windery, and they're clearing out the streets here. Only thing, is that a lot of local/express buses aren't running and some train service is out. LaGuardia , JFK and Newark are reopening at 4pm todayl, according to reports. There will be delays but at least they'll have flights coming in/going out today and the rest of the week.

I don't live too far from LGA and my community is in the flight path, so I get to see planes ascending/descending from LGA. If I hear/see anything flying over then I'll know some flights are going out/coming in. Tomorrow and Wed is suppose to be very sunny with no threat of high winds, temps rising into the mid to high 30s. I'm sure Manhattan is being cleared out, as it usually is before the other boroughs.

I can't get off my street right now. I live on a dead end and they haven't started plowing.

My neighbor is out there shoveling her driveway... for what? lol

There were 2000 flights cancelled yesteday, so there will be delays. There are no local or express buses in my community, so I didn't go to work today. Too much snow on the ground, and much too windy to walk to the subway. There are cars stuck on my street, and the plowers are slowly coming in. I didn't want to get stuck in Manhattan, when I heard some of the bus service was suspended, probably until later today, when they get the streets plowed. I'll make my way into work tomorrow, as I'm sure by tonight some streets and main roads will be cleared. So glad I cancelled my holiday plans to go to Pennsylvania to be with some family members. It would have been a headache trying to get back, whether driving or taking public transportation yesterday.

How are the Streets after a storm? Do they plow them good. I was thinking about driving into the city and parking. It's cheaper than 4 of us taking the train. Just wondering if it will be a problem getting tru the streets? Thanks

I was never, ever, ever, ever going to take a chance. Flying out on 12/26, flight was cancelled with no hope of a confirmed flight until Weds or Thursday. I immediately got on the phone on Christmas night and started bouncing around the country.

And now, I'm here. (And listening to gripes about an expensive cab ride make me giggle, just a little. It's all perspective...)

Well, I'm in Manhattan right now, and the streets are quite a mess with some snow drifts, and slushy streets, and some unshoveled sidewalks, but most of the snow from the street is pushed to the side, but we're managing here. The main streets today are not bad. I can't say you won't have a problem driving in, because some roads are still being plowed, and just a bit slushy, but traffic seems to be moving okay. It also depends on where you are driving from. There's no wind, like yesterday, and the temps seem a bit warm rising into the mid to high 30s, and partly sunny, and tomorrow should be sunny as well.
