I saw Prince in Belgium in November last year, and the highlight of the entire show was definitely a beautiful, inspiring and emotional rendition of The Love We Make, with two extra verses added to the song and an entire arena chanting the chorus with him. Such a thrilling moment, and ever since I've been looking for footage or audio of Prince playing this song, anywhere. Does he often play this song live?

Oh yes, ever since I heard The Love We Make live in Bergen in October last year it has been one of my favorite live songs!!! It was really a wonderful performance of a song that I had never noticed much on the CD.

He played 'The Love We Make' on 8 November at the Sportpaleis, Antwerp. It was a lengthy performance clocking in around 9+ minutes.

He has amended the lyrics slightly from the released studio version, but he didn't perform any additional verses.

Rather, he simply extended the song vocally with a call and response chant with the audience, followed by some additional lines: for example: "Everybody's looking for God. Maybe you should look inside sometime" around the 6 minute mark; "No more war, no more suffering", around the 7 minute point; and finally "The only love there is, is the love we make" repeated to close.

grrr it's written on the back of the tourbook....but they are ones that were rehearsed...
