Why does Prince play the same twenty something tired songs. Doesnt he realize how doring he has become? I am so glad I sold off my tix as his shows now just flat out suck. All of the music he has done and yet he plays the same crap everynight just in a different order. BORING!! Whats wrong with him? He must really love these songs I guess

I agree with you 100% He needs to change it up. I thought every concert was a "new experience" confused

I find this response way interesting as Ive spent tons of time on other bands forums but this was my first post here.

you know, the crazy thing is how many people at these shows are seeing him for the first time tonight. For me its only gonna be my 3rd (on the 29th) and Ive been a big fan for at least 10 years and also grew up on him. I havent traveled for him because Ive been obsessed with other bands (but I believe in traveling for music you love)

So he is doing the art of playing for the majority while also preserving his long term goals (his place in history). Im sorry to say to y'all that I am going to LOVE seeing the classics. I really want to see 1999, especially since we may very well be living the actual end-of-the-world party in 2011. and, I mean, the end part of purple rain, I dont think that would ever get old. I also really want a Crazy and my date wants her Beret... maybe the true magic of live music is to make one song never get too old. Usually most of the bitchers on a forum are the ones who werent there but here that is me so I cant be too critical.

and maybe after the show Ill feel differently.

I think this has to be the most tiresome subject on here BUT I do agree to a certain.....degree (excuse the rhyme!) but there are tonnes who havent seen prince so playing it safe for the masses is probaby best, although where the funk is when doves cry? Now THAT in itself could change peoples opinions if he did that in amongst the regulars....and other than that maybe he needs to look at doing either low key gigs or another ona tour for us seasoned folk..other than that stop your whining and have a merry xmas biggrin

well i saw him 4 times on his 20TEN Tour in Europe and the interesting thing is that even his classics and older songs never get boring: the new version of LRC or kiss....it`s about how he performs them...and he played some new or non-hits too....like The love we make, future soul song, dreamer etc....

a setlist can`t tell you anything about the quality of the performance....
