After show info...?

I know Its prolly a lil soon to ask, But any news on after shows for any of the NJ/NY gigs?

Any thoughts on possible locations? I've never been to a Prince after show in the 8+ shows since 1984. confused Anyone else ?

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I'm going out for the show on the 29th.

I'm hoping that when it gets closer, there will be some kind orgers who will start leaking the info on the aftershows. I plan on checking my phone for updates during and immediately after the concert.

Which show(s) are you going to?

I won 6 tickets (3 sets) Im going to the 17TH & 18Th shows. & a third i don't know which yet.

An aftershow would make it COMPLETE!

I've been trying to understand this for a long time now. It's probably a simple answer for the rest of you but not me. How would anyone at a concert know there is an aftershow and where it would be? And how does the information spread?

Ha I remember back in the pre-internet days, people who got pulled up onstage to dance would be told and would come back and tell us... and I remember a few times where they'd announce it over the loudspeaker after the concert eek leading to a mad dash out the venue.

Hopefully this time around they're announced at least before the show so folks can strategize.

Chances of the Apollo are kind tough... it's a union house that requires advance negotiation for sound/tech personnel. And usually those shows have to end by midnight. Better chance of an aftershow taking place at a nightclub where there aren't so many restrictions in terms of curfew or labor.

The last real aftershow Prince did in NYC was at Butter restaurant the night after his Good Morning America appearance with Tamar. Those tickets (limited to 200 I think) went on sale through the NPGMC earlier that day and that was it.

Before then, it was at The World night club (which I think is where the Nokia is now) in Times Square--but that was after One Nite Alone and was part of the soundcheck-premium seats-aftershow deal of the NPGMC membership.

During Musicology, they just had an "afterparty" they sold tickets for online through NPGMC and we all got to smush ourselves into BBKings in Times Square listening to a DJ, while Prince chilled in a booth. Those are the worst.

My guess is that if there is an afterparty it will be at BB Kings. He seems to like playing there AND Mint Condition usually performs there when they are in NYC. It's tiny as HELL tho. :/

Any thing out there about an aftershow for the 17th?

How much are these to get in usually?

Also, if I have an under 21 in my party is it possible to get her in..... ???

She's nice to look at so that should help.

For those that don't know/remember, last time he played MSG the after PARTY was at bb kings. The Man was there, but he did not perform. He was in a roped off VIP area, but in clear view of every one.

Remember folks, i'm not trying to dampen your enthusiasm, but there are dozens of places that could house an aftershow in NYC.

Hope he does them though, more shows = more chance of bootlegs.

Enjoy.

Yes, my wife saw him in a booth on a laptop (probably checking MSG show reviews/posts on NPG site) that night. I bought the whole bottle for a booth deal which was a few $$ and was highly dissapointed...but hey can't blame him as there is never any guarantees of an actual performance. Took my chances and likely will get suckered in again. The man is just addictive, LOL.

Just incase Prince decides to show up(or not) at the Village Underground, on the17 or 18th.. go to their site and sign up for their news letter http://thevillageunderground.com/ AND GET YOUR SECOND ROUND OF DRINKS FREE! (UP TO 8 PEOPLE!)

Thanks for that info. I think I'm going to head there Friday night after the Izod show if I don't hear any other aftershow info. The house band is crazy good there. I went last summer and was blown away.
