This is really weird. I"m just on the line with Ticketmaster and they are not aware of this yet. However, I had tickets for the show on 12/14 and Ticketmaster website is saying that my order was cancelled. It looks like I'm getting tickets to the show on 12/15 in exchange.

All you have to do is see how long I have been with the org. I would not post bogus info. I was driving in my car when they made the announcement. They said that due to "production conflicts" the show on the 14th was cancelled and that you have the option for a refund or tickets for the 15th. As far as proof...they did add the January show so the info must be legit.

yeah but its not all over the internet yet...well looks like i'm getting a refund then...i know you can cancel hotel rooms till night b4,right?

yep i just got that message too! i just switched the room to the 15th...

Just go to LIvenation and all the info I stated is now confirmed. Dec 14 is no longer listed.

When I asked them about a refund for the 14th...they told me that they just gave me two seats to the 15th without asking. When I informed them that I already had tickets to the 15th....they were puzzled and kept trying to get me to accept the two tickets that they automatically gave me without asking. After going back and forth...I finally got the refund. FYI..the seats they were offering were not better than the ones on the 14th or the ones I had for the 15th. If you have tickets I recommend getting on the phone ASAP before they scam you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok after being on hold she said they can only do it thru an email. the email JUST arrived. they will be holding tix for the 15th show.it tells you the location. if u want the tix you click on link and redeem...if not do nothing and you get a full refund..........

Well Tomee thanks for letting fans know about the cancellation. People need to start rebooking their hotel/air arrangements, if they were coming in for the 14th show and leaving the next day.

ohh all my purple hippes with nonrefundable airline tix. i had tix to scifi convention and the promoter ran off with everyones $$. didn't get that or the airline back... like $700

Livenation should have scheduled the 1st 3 shows at MSG in the first place and 2 at IZOD, and could have avoided all this. Obviously they didn't do their research. What were they thinking? Now fans with non-refundable airline tickets will not get a refund.

Prince Cancels One NYC Show, Adds Another

So Prince is coming to town soon, for a suite of shows at both Madison Square Garden and the Izod Center in New Jersey. First one was supposed to be December 14th at the latter. That show has been canceled. Ticketholders can either opt for "an email notification with a new seat location" for the following night's Izod show on Dec. 15 (look out you're not stuck behind a pole or something), or get a full refund and then priority access to a new show: January 18th at Madison Square Garden. As this is reliably confusing in a Prince sort of way, let's just run the whole release, plus the newly updated show dates below:

Due to overwhelming demand, Prince announced today that he is adding another Madison Square Garden show to the previously announced New York Area concerts. The two previously announced Madison Square Garden shows taking place on December 18th and December 29th sold out in less than 30 minutes. The new MSG show will take place on January 18th, 2011 with tickets going on sale December 10th at 12pm at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com.

Due to scheduling issues the first show at the IZOD Center on December 14th has been canceled. Ticket holders for the December 14th IZOD show will have several ticket options. They will automatically receive an email notification with a new seat location for the December 15th IZOD show which they can keep or receive a full refund at the point of purchase.

If they prefer to buy tickets to the newly announced MSG date scheduled for January 18th, they will have access to presale tickets on Wednesday, December 8th from 10:00 am ET to10 pm ET.

Well, the January 18th date is officially on the Livenation site.

Well, after just making a three hour round trip from Brooklyn to Manhattan to sell my two extra tickets, I was checking my email on the way back to the car and got the news. Unfortunately, the person I sold them to was already in the theater for a Broadway show and now we have to get the money back to them. GRRRRRR!

Anyway, I think something was up with this for the past few days. I posted a few days ago when the 14th first became "sold out" and thought it was weird because there seemed to be so many seats available for the 14th just the day before and then, bam, it was sold out. Something fishy was up and maybe the ticket agents didn't even know about it.

Well, I will get a refund and pray they don't do the same with the 15th. I had great seats for both from exchanging them. Friday and the 18th are just so-so.

Someone posted that the cancellation was due to a scheduling conflict... Maybe it was due to poor sales, because they're trying to fill up Dec. 15th with people from the 14th. (speculation)

Bay Ridge, there, waited about 20 minutes, tried to catch him after I hear it was cancelled, and then back to Bay Ridge, not one way.

My best tickets were for the 14th show!!! I was so excited about opening night too. Sucks so bad cause now I can only go to 2 shows...hopefully they won't cancel those too. I now have to change travel details and hotel details...this is quite depressing. I can't even finish my dissertation I'm so bummed out! And will probably reschedule my final that's tomorrow, I can't concentrate under this kind of stress.. I think I'm gonna cry!

I won't be attending the new MSG show I don't guess cause that's 2 trips to NY area and that's kind expensive and that's around the time a new semester is starting, and more time to take off work. I was getting all excited too, counting down the days...this is going to ruin my whole weekend now!

ohhh that sux. i hate jersey but i guess i am spoiled with the closeness of many concert venues.

What a disorganized way to do a run of shows! I'm not surprised about the cancellation. As for the "production issues" reason given for cancelling the show at Izod, thats prob bull. As someone else on here speculates its prob more like they hadnt sold enough tkts for the IZOD shows so decided to pull the 14th.
