Event Summary:
UK Soul Jam captures the energy and musical talent from London's Contemporary Soul Scene. Bringing together Singers, Players, movers and shakers or just connoisseurs of Neo Soul, Nu Jazz, Credible Hip Hop and RnB, Brokenbeat, Bashment, Gospel and Soulful House scenes in London.

There is a Soul Revolution quietly going on in London right now - the talent is staggering, but with little or no outlets for this live music to manifest itself.

Two Soul organisations that have been incubating and nurturing this Nu Soul Movement are KEEP THE FAITH & SOUL LOUNGE.

Keep The Faith - as recommended by Time Out, OnWeekToLive Mag & Sista's UK Mag, Colourful Radio & Choice FM. Showcases the finest UK, USA and Global Eclectic Soul music including live performances from
London's newest Soul related music talents. KTF headed by Paul Aaaron represents the full range of SOUL music from Soulful RnB to Soulful House and Brokenbeats with live performances from new and acclaimed artists.

KTF's reputation has been built on breaking new Soul music as well as celebrating the less known Roots & offshoots of the music earning the night respect as a leader in specialist music and frequented by a
knowledgeable crowd who are passionate about their music.

Soul Lounge has ran a well respected Soul related open mic session in London for Singers, Musicians and spoken word artists. Supported by the in-house band Soul Liberation Funk headed By Marlon Conton. The
Jams Soul Lounge host are organic, gospel in essence and intense, most of the faces of London's Club Scene have stepped up on the Soul Lounge Mic at some point. The Jams encourage new talent while celebrating the
true unsung Soul craftsmen and women of London's Soul and Gospel scenes.

The two organisations already had some cross over of attendance and artists who performed on their nights in addition to attending each others events - the next step was a logical one KEEP THE FAITH & SOUL
LOUNGE presenting UK SOUL JAM a celebration of UK Soul in DJ, New Talent Showcase and Open Mic improvised live music Jams. The buzz is already growing on UK Soul Jam, be in the house for when that positive energy explodes on the Jazz Cafe stage.

SPOONFACE:
Spoonface had his first taste of international recording success as Black Legend with his reworking of the Barry White classic "You See The
Trouble With Me" reaching No. 1 in the UK and selling over 2 million copies. Remember seeing Spoonface on Top Of The Pops singing that one?
Fast fwd to recent times - today Spoonface has his own record label & events wing called FAADA
His own recent material and live performances remarkably straddles the very wide musical areas of Acoustic Folk, Soul, House & Brokenbeats, Nu Jazz, Dancehall & good old Quirky UK Pop. Spoonface teamed up with UK act EAR DIS & delivered the sure fya UK Street anthem "Hey Girl" which sets alight dance floors be it in a House, Brokenbeat, Dancehall or Soca setting. This UK Carnival anthem was on constant A -playlist radio rwd from London pirates right through to BBC radio 1. Spoonface will be performing "Hey Girl" along with some brand new material inc. cuts from his latest critically acclaimed album "Living On The Venus Express" out now on FAADA Recording label. KEVIN MARK TRAIL:
Accomplished UK artist, writer & producer Kevin Mark Trail takes time off his tour with chart toppers The Streets to bring an all live set of his unique mix of Acoustic Soul, Folk & sometimes auto biographic poetic musings. Having already released an album on EMI ("Just Living", 2005) this put Kevin in good stead for his collaborations and work with artists such as Nitin Sawhney, Estelle, Black Twang, Rodney P, Tor, The Streets & MJ Cole in addition to touring the USA & Europe with Beverley Knight, The Streets, Lizz Wright, Pharrell Williams & N.E.R.D among others. Kevin brings a rare depth and individual talent which has built him a solid fan base through iTunes and MySpace in addition to critical acclaim. We are privileged to welcome Kevin to the UK SOUL JAM platform - Kevin's latest works are not to be missed - make sure you're in the Jazz Cafe house to hear it.


DAVINAH:
South London Soul & R&B Chanteuse Davinah brings a mighty powerful, intense & Gospel rooted voice perhaps unpredicted from her petite frame.
In addition to song writing, regular club performances & receiving press attention from mags such as Touch Mag Davinah is also a trained dancer. Her album "On The Surface" which features Craze 24, Gz (Home To You) & other local London talent inc. writers Oggie ("Follow Me" and "You") Renada, Shaun "Hypertone" Collins and Producers such as Ray Rukus ("Turn It Up") has gained radio plays and built an awareness of her music with a new UK generation hungry for genuinely fresh talent over just hype, formula and aesthetics. Davinah's single "Run Away" can be found on the chart topping Ministry Of Sound compilation "Addicted 2 Bassline" compilation series. Hear "Run Away" and more new music all live from Davinah on the UK Soul Jam stage @ Jazz Cafe.

Also performing will be UK Soul Jam & Soul Lounge compare Marlon Conton who has worked with artists as diverse as for Soulchild (Shepards Bush Empire) with Noel Mckoy. Dwele and Jaguar Wright. UK Soul Jam also features the in-house band Soul Liberation Funk directed
by Steven Harris a rising writer, performer and arranger from London's Soul and Gospel scenes.

Paul Aaaron will also make a cameo appearance on Guitar & Percussion.

The OPEN MIC JAM sections of the live music part of UK Soul Jam are open to the public later in the show.
