If I could compare this incident while performing to maybe a normal conversation, or maybe compare his reaction to someone smoking during the soundcheck earlier to this incident I would expect some verbal communication...

I don't follow this at all ... why compare it to 2 things that have nothing to do with a musical performance whatsoever???
Prince communicates through his music and performance, no need for him to "verbally" say anything.
anyways ...

It's not about a performance. Just his reaction to the 'environment'. Be it a smoker at Ahoy or whatever it was at Nighttown. Just speak up and we know a bit more.

udo,

I'll say it again,
I don't think there was something wrong with the 'environment'

Perhaps it was planned that the nighttownconcert would be longer, but be serious, what could he have done next, after he played beautifull strange that way.

He could only go downhill,
or play 'HEAD',
so he stopped

great move

and I'm still hungry

So the ending was kind of a performance act...
Now that a few days have passed I begin to accept this explanation a bit better.

Don't know why people R complaining about security. Did not bother me a lot. As a matter a fact I did not see them at all. Had no probs with people in front O me... I stood first row and had a clear view. I took a friend along who complained that he could only see Ronda's crotch as he was looking passed tha keyboards.
The show really rocked and a couple O my favourite songs like calhoun square and strangly beautifull came along.
I did not mind tha $100 anymore after the first 2 jams. Damn this was goin 2 B great.
As 4 the end bit... I think he broke a string for the second time that show. The guitar was laying there in front O me (1 meter, o boy o boy whould that B a nice present) with 1 broken string. Don't kno if the string broke on impact or while playin'.

I got myself some nice souvenirs like a guitar pick and a blackwell drum stick (unfortunately both where not played with) Thanx John 4 bringin' round tha drum sticks, really appreciated it. U bring tha best beats to the house.

If some of you noticed that at the beginning of the Nighttown concert one of the members of the security went down to the floor to grab violently a tiny detachable photo camera to a frightened guy, this guy was me... machinegun

Fucking Nighttown - the employees there were trying to get a better view of the show over the paying patrons! The place sucks but Prince rocked it out!

The one who offered a sigaret to Prince at the soundcheck was my friend. Although Prince asked him to put it out was not the reaction he hoped for...he now has the story that Prince asked him (YES him) for a sigaret...how many people can tell that story?

And as an reaction on that great incident: Prince just asked he wasn't irritated at all...and the same was for the flashes, he doesn't like it but it had nothing to do with his performance. What we saw in Nighttown was an absolute unique performance with a more then spectacular end. Aren't we always saying that we don't like all this predictable music nowadays...well this is why PRINCE rules. Unpredictable and a incredible concert with an ending no one will ever forget. I'm still totally fucked up and excited by what happened saturday, and howmany times during your life does that happen.

I obviously don't know why the show ended the way it did.

for me it felt just right.
It was totaly in with the performance,
so much energy building up,
so much things happening
that it was THE way to end this european tour,
just leaving us behind wanting more ...

It's just the way to do it.

On another issue,
I got the impression,
and got this more and more as the day went by
that prince was gonna say,

"well fuck it,
and start playing HEAD"

I don't know,
I've got a feeling he's at a crossroad again,
and that he's got to choose a new direction ...

But then again,
like a said before,
I don't know anything,
It's all based on feelings,
But that's what princes music does for me,
it get's in my body,
between my flesh and my skin.
