Rotterdam, 2nov.; 3 shows (long)

Let's start by saying I had a lotta fun last night. Saw basically 3 shows.

The first show was called the soundcheck but was a concert in itself. And what a concert. The soundcheck started with a small conversation. Prince got upset about two things; first he was anoyed by the audience close to the stage smoking..then he got anoyed to one guy in the audience who shouted..trade places..(refering to the people in the front)..Prince got angry and said..u no u dont make a lot of sense..then he catched his microphoneholder like he would to that guy..and said: u no i could get u out of here in 5 seconds. At the end of the soundcheck he referred to this thing again when he said: audience to the left of me is funky..and the right side of me is grazy (..)..to me it showed Prince was in a somewhat angry mood which more or less showed of in the whole night after that...(inc.Nighttown).

Anyway..the soundcheck started with some cool funky jamming on the keyboards by Prince..too funky. His first song was a case of you..my favorite..very nice..on one moment he started played the semi-acoustic guitar..great..he played dont play me..the truth on it..wish he would have come back on it in the ahoy show or the nighttown show..but he didnt.
All n all..the soundcheck was incredible.

The ahoy show started incredible as well. the rainbow children was played with the habibi guitar solo as well..for me this was maybe the highlights in the show..other highlights were: the ladder, the ride and ofcourse anna stesia. So funny were the times the audience was put on stage..Sheila and Prince discussing..no not this one..this one has children at home..etc..some of the audience could sing by the way. He..and clean too..Prince let one guy on the stage to clean up all the balloons with thank u PRince written on it. Prince mentioned dont thank me..thank u. Hearing Purple Rain again and many other hits was nice to see the response of the public but i felt more being in a sing a along party then a music concert. This ofcourse was totally different in Nighttown.

First i must admit getting pretty tired in Nighttown I mean the show start of 02:00..but this tiredness was gone as soon Prince started. I felt like a dream come true when he started of..guitar solo's..funking around with his band. Basically Prince was pretty loose..heh..and Renato started incredible (while in the soundcheck he sounded to me totally off..). Pff..even Prince was impressed. From the playlist u could see it was a heavily guitar dominated concert. The audience response was more of being in awe then anything else. Everybody I saw was clearly impressed.
At least I was.

Well what else to say about last night?

Prince clearly wasnt showing of his jehova religion. Basically i dont believe he is a jehova witness. and last night showed this to me again. no word about bible or anything basically. Beatifull Strange was clearly about how different interpretations are around and how beautifull strange that is. This isnt anything close to saying; heh, i no the only truth.

His remark in the ahoy show about being in america and canada: so much grazy stuff going around of there...and about everywhere being so much problem..only one thing to do..stay forever in ahoy..funny..and so much Prince.

Prince and his NPGMembers. I thought Prince would be more interactive with his members. But he wasnt at all. Not in the soundcheck not in nighttown. I thought he would start the show in Nighttown with saying: he you all i am angry with u all...u all crashed my computer!..but he didnt. No mentioning of the fact that we are all members. Well i dont mind..but i was expecting it.

All n all many highlights. I think the soundcheck sticks to me for a long time..as will the nighttown concert ofcourse.

m3taverse..ur right ofcourse..but that didnt had the acoustic feel like in the soundcheck. I mean 7 and alphabet st. were sung by 8000 in chorus..while in the soundcheck it was just Prince.
