Nighttown, did P record this one?

I am still recovering from last night/this morning. Prince and the NPG blew me away and slapped me in the face hard with some very freaky noises!!! The whole atmosphere was simply amazing. Minimal talking, interaction with the public, no opening anouncements no ending : just superb music!! And that is what we wanted, at least I do.

One thing that attracted my attention was the opening of the Question of U. Prince started the song with guitar and later vocals, but he wasnt happy with it and they started over. He said that he wanted to do the intro again. Why should he doe that? Did he wanted to have a very high quality version, so that they edit the first intro out of the recording??? Just a thought, but I really hope that these two late night concerts will be used for a special Live disc set or something. LEt's hope so...or they will be locked in the big old vault;)

Another question: why do my two ears are making noises? O yes I just visited the loudest concert of my life!

Peace

I really would like to hear more experiences, so come on!

Oh yes it was recorded,

it was even videotaped,
all from the PA.

And here I go again,
but I've go this feeling that the recordings from the european tour will please him more than what he had till now. So I could be possible that he trows all those ANO live boxes in the vault/trascan.

Yep it was recorded, and some BIG guys took the tape away after the concert. smile
But it was just a 2 track tape, so no mixing can be done afterwards; also as there was no protection around the drumkit (like on the normal show) any multitrack recording would have been too messed up with noise to be useful for a serious mix as well.
So I guess it's going into the vault

But I hear that DAT recorders can be quite small these days, so you never know what may appear..

Maybe he'll put together a special live disc from the European shows to give the NPGMC for Christmas. Actually, now that he's half a Jehovah's Witness, he probably doesn't "do" Christmas any more.

My impression was that he was a bit too late with his vocals and it didn't really run smoothly. So he thought, fuck it, I'll do the intro again and this time focus a bit more on the lyrics.

The reason is very simple, John Blackwell did a break and

missed the right point !So the structure of the intro was

wrong, and Prince did it again! Believe me that was the

reason!

In 1986 the revolution did a mistake during a bridge and

prince repeated it!

he is an absolutly perfectionist!

The guitar work was the best i ever heard from Prince!
