Q control for Dublin on the 10th

Is anyone out there already assuming responsibility for the fairness of the system for Thursday's gig?

Ive read the reports of baaad behaviour by Fams at previous gigs and although I want a chilled out experience, there are always those who will try and spoil it for the others.

Is anyone willing to side with me and be responsible to ensure we all happy on the nite? (and No - its not to get me a front row seat - I just want fairness for all)

1) Show up at the venue and get in the Q
2) Be nice and chat 2 the people in front and behind U
3) When the doors open, follow the Q and get your ticket
4) Go to stage and get and the best seat for yalou.
5) Do not hold seat for your five friends that are coming 'later'
6) Stealing someone's else seats will not be tolerated.
7) no need for lists or other rubbish like that.

Note - the point is has a wide stage, approx 100 seats wide. Reckon there will be 250 max npg folks so we will all be in the top 5 rows. It is way bigger than the apollo in London.

Peace all, RJ

Irish people will turn up just before it starts - get inside and head for the Bar,
Even at the height of his mass popularity - never had any problems with queues etc.
Judging by the amount of posts from people flying in - and the amount of my friends who couldnt get tickets - Will we have any Irish at the concert?...
bloody foreigners,...

Only going to be 174 seats held. Which means 3 rows back. Shouldnt be any problems getting a decent seat and to be perfectly honest, the stage is so big you are better sitting a little further back... Still, im sure we will have a few mad people queing since 7.30am or something...

Flying in from Glasgow tomorrow afternoon (yes, I'm one of those bloody foreigners). Attended Friday gig in London, they let us in 5.15, Prince took the stage aroung an hour later and played for 50mins. We chilled at the bar until general admission was complete, Prince took stage around 8.15 until 10.50, and a great time was had by all. I'm more excited about this gig than I was London, never been to Dublin before. I hope there is an aftershow as I'm flying out at 06.50 the next morning therefore have not booked a hotel room for the night. If there ain't, anyone any suggestions where I could spend a few hours before catching my flight home. SEE YOU ALL TOMORROW.

Folks,
Based on previuos shows and the fact there are only 175-250 of us attending pre-show, we will be getting in approx 5.30 for 6.00-6.30 soundcheck, show will commence at 8ish.
I will get in line approx 5pm (have to work) so see you there. Front row won't be best as stage is high. I'll hit row 3.
Peace

Spot on!! Tell anyone with lists and raffle tickets to go away. Who are these people who feel its their duty to organise a q?? Just follow steps 1 and 2 and there shouldn't be a problem. At the soundcheck on tuesday 8th (blinding by the way), Prince actually said to the same old faces in row 1 centre, "Oh God, am I going to have to look you all again"! You know who u are, Mr long hair and Mr. Goatee.

(cross posted from another thread)

Whatever you think of ANY system, telling someone to "piss off and get a life" really isn't the best thing to do.

4 French people at Hammermith tried this, refused to acknowledge the "system" used by the Dutch guys and consequenently got told by the Apollo staff that they would be refused entry if they refused to acknowledge the queuing system.

At the end of the day, in the case of Hammermith at least, the venues security staff ASKED the fans to start a system. There's never going to be one that works 100% but its at least better than violence which is exactly what occured last time there were general admission UK gigs (Wembley Stadium).

Fair enough. Get there at 2pm, put your name on a list/get raffle ticket, come back at 4pm and go to the back of the q as the "system" has fallen apart (due to the fact that not everyone is aware of it).

MCD, the promoters of the Dublin Gig have confirmed to me by E mail that 174 seats are reserved for Music Club Members.
The first 3 rows are reserved.
Everyone chill out! I was in London for the 4th & 5th and I was in Row 16 for both gigs with an excellent view. Regardless of where you find yourselves on Thursday night, Row 1,2 or 3 on the left right or in the middle you are in for a treat!
My biggest concern was how MCD were going to handle the soundcheck et al after the disaster on the 5th in London. (We had to stand in the foyer for an hour and 10 mins) however the prompt and detailed response I got has put my mind at ease.
So chill.

Aaah, so YOU'RE part of the raffle ticket mafia. Listen, I don't have a problem with systems if they work but my 2 experiences in London and manchester showed me they didn't.I was given a ticket at 1pm, went away till 4pm came back to find Mr Raffle Ticket near the front of a very long Q saying "Sorry its all gone to shit." A system only works if EVERYONE is aware of it and cool with it. U going to email everyone? I think not.

Mafioso? I think not.

Maybe you misunderstand me - I just wanted to help prevent bad feeling on the nite, not get slayed by the masses.

One point, just cause previous attempts to organise a system havent worked dont mean that it can never work - we just need better organisation. For example, P has been touring since early 2002 all over the USA, Canada, and now UK, Europe, Japan and possibly Australia practically every nite with only a few weeks off here and there. If his people can organise the logistics of a tour of that scale then surely some of us can organise a bloody fair queue system.

Then again maybe your socks dont match.

Eh??
Ok final post on qing. I'm not seeing any more shows. I'm just trying to warn those that are, the fiascos of the previous week. We're talking about 2 to 3 hundred people standing in a line! It doesn't need a system that only half the queue are aware of. Ok, so maybe 5 or 10 may try and q jump. Its not going to be more than that. These raffle ticket Generals make matters worse.

just turn up, join the queue. it's easy to figure, just stand behind the last person in the line.

forget the childish raffle ticket BS... it doesn't work.
